What happened to the cast of 'The Full Monty'?

This comedy from 1997 had a modest budget - 3.5 million dollars - and would become a hit with 257 million dollars of revenue. In large part, this was thanks to the talented cast.

'The Full Monty' (1997) marked an entire generation. It was a viral phenomenon that even coined a new term for exotic dancing thanks to its title.

In addition, 'TheFull Monty' was nominated for four Oscars in four of the most relevant categories: Best Film, Best Director (Peter Cattaneo), Best Original Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy), and Best Original Score. They would only win the last one, but it was one of the best surprises of the year.

The movie was so successful that it has been turned into a musical and a play. It was also included by the British Film Institute in the 25th Best British Movies of the 20th Century.

In 2022, the movie, which was a reference for many middle-aged men to loosen up a bit, celebrated its 25th anniversary. In addition, Disney+ streamed a series of 'The Full Monty' in 2023. Where did the actors from the original movie go?

Robert Carlyle was arguably the cast member with the most popularity. In 'The Full Monty', the Scottish actor had a main role and delivered an incredible performance as the head of an amateur group of strip-per men.

The actor (right) had just starred in the hit movie 'Trainspotting' (1996). He would also appear in 'The World is Not Enough' (1999), 'The Beach' (2000), and '28 Weeks Later' (2007).
