If his name and face seem familiar to you, it's not by chance! Gabriel-Kane is indeed the son of two movie stars: the iconic Isabelle Adjani and the 3-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis. You can imagine the expectations are high when this young man embarks on a Hollywood career...

A popular model

With his fiery eyes, angelic face, and model height, Gabriel-Kane has the goods to break into fashion. Zadig & Voltaire, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Chanel… The biggest names in fashion and Haute Couture are snapping him up for their shows and campaigns. Recently, his mother also accompanied him on the runway.

A mother-son campaign for Zegna

Ambassador of Zegna, an Italian men's ready-to-wear brand, Gabriel-Kane appeared alongside his mother during an advertising campaign in 2021. The complicity between the mother and her son is obvious. The two have a very close relationship.

A childhood with his mother in Paris

Gabriel-Kane was born in New York in 1995, but it was in Paris that he spent his childhood. His parents separates when Isabelle Adjani was pregnant. "His father and I did not form what is called a family," she later explained to Gala magazine.

Far from the glitter

Isabelle Adjani raised her youngest son (her first son, Barnabé Saïd-Nuytten was born in 1979 from her relationship with director Bruno Nuytten) in parallel with her acting career. Although she was often in the spotlight, she managed to protect her son from the flashes of the paparazzi.

'They were able to save me'

"Even though my parents are celebrities, I don't really feel like a 'son of'" he confided to the magazine Citizen K in 2015. He featured on the cover of that edition, in which he further explains: “They knew how to shelter me. I didn't grow up in the celebrity world."

A big decision at 14

At the age of 14, Gabriel-Kane felt the need to go live with his father, Daniel Day-Lewis. Isabelle Adjani recounts in the columns of Gala the moment when her son made this decision: “One day, with a kind of extremely mature confidence, he said to me: 'Listen, mom, in 4 years, I will be 18 years, I'm not going to wait for that time to start living with my dad, so it's now.' It was thoughtful. I also thought that before coming of age, he had to measure himself against the male model, even if I feared [him] being uprooted...”

Adolescence with his father in Ireland

Gabriel-Kane moved to Ireland where his father Daniel Day-Lewis had rebuilt his life with American actress and director Rebecca Miller. In the Irish countryside, 45 minutes from the nearest city, the teenager had little social life. He went on to compose music, one of his greatest passions: "It was vital: I had my guitar, my piano, I locked myself in my room and I wrote songs," he told Vogue.

A promising debut in modeling

At only 16 years old, Gabriel-Kane went to New York with his father and signed with the agency IMG Worldwide. He posed for magazines, found himself in the arms of Julianne Moore for a Chanel show in Paris... In short, the contracts followed one another very quickly and allowed him to become more independent.

Music first

At the same time, he joined a famous music school in Boston, the Berklee College of Music. Ultimately, however, Gabriel-Kane prefers to remain self-taught and concentrate on his compositions.

A first single in 2015

In September 2015, Gabriel-Kane released his first single titled 'Ink In My Veins,' a song with pop and soul influences. Many compare him to Sam Smith for his British air. Gabriel-Kane released his second EP in 2019.

Addiction to tattoos

'Ink In My Veins' is a title that suits the singer. Gabriel-Kane indeed shares with his father a passion for tattoos. He already has a multitude of them all over his body, and he clearly does not intend to stop there.

A musical career in the US

If the son of Isabelle Adjani is not necessarily known in France for his talents as a singer, he certainly is in the United States. Of course, it helps that he has a striking, famous name.

On to film

With two acting parents, it's not surprising tgat Gabriel-Kane tried acting as well. The question crítics ask: Is he really good at it, or is he a so-called 'nepo baby' in Hollywood?

'Terror on the Prairie'

He had a small role in the musical 'Guys & Dolls' and also appeared in the short film 'Inside & Outward' (2020) with Sarah-Jessica Parker. Then, in 2022, he starred in the thriller 'Terror on the Prairie', directed by Michael Polish. The film was not a success, but that won't deter the young actor to keep working in Hollywood.

Life between Paris and New York

Gabriel-Kane now divides his time between Paris and New York. And between fashion, music and cinema. His career will hopefully have the same level of success as those of his parents, whatever he decides to pursue.
