'Shameful': Kylian Mbappe slammed after France’s scrappy victory over Belgium
Kylian Mbappe's France is through to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 after narrowly scraping past Belgium thanks to a Jan Vertonghen own goal in the 85th minute.
Ahead of the celebrations for the goal, Mbappé appeared to run over to the 37-year-old Belgium defender and shouted loudly in his face. His anger towards Vertonghen stemmed from an earlier incident in the match.
The trouble between the two started midway through the second half when Mbappe tumbled in the box under Vertonghen's tackle, and it appeared the Belgium defender won the ball fairly.

The Mirror reports Mbappe went crashing down far too easy for Vertonghen's liking, and in turn, snapped back at his rival in a heated exchange for a few moments after the tackle.
Although the Belgium defender was in the right place to make that tackle on Mbappé, Vertonghen was in the wrong area when Randal Kolo Muani's late effort came off the defender to give France a precious lead.
Vertonghen stuck out his knee to block the on-coming shot, and the resulting deflection sent Belgium goalkeeper Koen Casteels the wrong way.
According to The Sun, some fans are calling for Mbappe to be investigated by UEFA for his apparent mocking of Vertonghen when France scored their winning goal.
Fans took to X to shame Mbappe's behaviour. One user said: "Shameful. What's wrong with him?" Another added: "Lack of class from Mbappé, enjoy your team scoring rather than gloating at someone else's bad luck."
Mbappe's French team will play Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 after Portugal beat Slovenia 3-0 on penalties.
With England's Jude Bellingham being investigated for an inappropriate remark after his goal against Slovakia, should the same happen to Mbappe?
