According to Hanouna, Neymar’s issues with Mbappe date back to their time together at Paris Saint Germain, with the pair having, “always been at war”.
Neymar’s comments carry weight not only due to his status as a legend of the game but also as he played 136 times alongside Mbappe, combing for 54 goals, per Transfermarkt.
Neymar and Mbappe’s clashes perhaps came due to the pair both wanting to be the main man at PSG, something that could cause friction between Mbappe and his new Madrid teammates.
So far, there haven’t been any obvious issues between Vini and the Frenchman, with the Brazilian allowing Mbappe to take two penalties so far this season per Justin Williams for Briefly.
Adding Mbappe to Madrid’s talented squad was expected to make them essentially unbeatable but so far it has proven more of a challenge than expected with Los Blancos’ forward line struggling for fluency so far.
Madrid fans will be worried if the trio can’t find a connection soon, with Madrid currently three points behind leaders FC Barcelona.
Despite Neymar’s warning, Mbappe and the pair of Brazilian wingers are currently “friends,” per Cyril Hanouna, so perhaps any issues between Neymar and Mbappe were more on the Brazilian’s side.
Hanouna’s claim that all is well between Mbappe and his new teammates will ease any concerns that Madrid fans may have about their new super team as Los Blancos are looking to defend their Champions League title.
