Neymar 'fans' working overtime on memes after seeing his new look

Neymar is not exactly enjoying a career high point right now. Injuries throughout the season, an attempted attack on his family and, as if that wasn't enough, he's got a lot of people on the internet making fun of his new look. Interestingly, as far as his style goes, his new shorn look is probably the least flamboyant he's looked in a good while.

Despite this, fans of the Brazilian forward seem to find his new stripped-back appearance to be amusing and have taken to the X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts.

If Neymar's look allows him to enter the restricted Cannavaro club, it's not bad.

Some fans did not hesitate to apply the maximum punishment to the Carioca playmaker: red card and expulsion.

This comparison to a McDonald's Cheeseburger might be both the most offensive and funniest comparison ever made to Neymar's look.

Jesse Pinkman – Aaron Paul's character in "Breaking Bad" – was another one of the comparisons doing the rounds. While Pinkman had many negative traits, a lack of charm was not one of them.

This one's not even a bad comparison. Physically, of course. Football-wise, the Spanish defender now plays for Turkish team Galatasaray, a much more established club than Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

There are those who see the change of look as a change in trend for the Brazilian. But let's not forget that he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus.

They don't actually look much alike, but finding a photo where Wayne Rooney looks like a nice guy was worth sharing.

Coming from X, it should surprise nobody to hear how relentless these memes have been. Of course, it's largely done in good fun, but we suspect Neymar will probably be making use of some headwear coming into the colder months...
