Mbappé is demanding how much for his Real Madrid move?
A new chapter has begun in the never-ending soap opera surrounding Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid, a complicated relationship that dates back to 2017. According to the German newspaper Bild, the French forward has already picked his next destination, leaving PSG behind for the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappé's contract with the French club ends on June 30th (2024), which allows him to negotiate with clubs as a free agent. The Parisian footballer has absolute freedom to negotiate his future with no strings attached.
Bild, doesn't claim there have been negotiations between Mbappé and Real Madrid, but the publication highlights his [Mbappé] intent to leave the club as a free agent to dress in all white for the 2024-2025 season.

According to Bild, the French striker is demanding an annual sum of €70m (£59.9m, $75.8m) until 2029!
Mbappé is eyeing some astronomical numbers! The French striker will earn €350m (£299m, $379.6m) over five years, in addition to the €125m (£106m, $135.5m) transfer bonus upon arriving as a free agent. Real Madrid would spend a whooping €475m (£406m, $515m) total!
But as in any good negotiation, we are not talking about something unilateral. Real Madrid also has something to say and, according to Bild, Real Madrid is willing to offer €35m (£29.9m, $37.8m) gross salary, exactly half of the players' demands.
According to Blind, Kylian Mbappé and his mother/agent, Fayza Lamari, pocket around €200m (£171m, $216.9m) a year, including bonuses and commissions.
French newspaper L'Equpie revealed back in March 2023, that Mbappé had earned €6 million (£5.m, $6.5m) a month with PSG. Jaw-dropping numbers, placing the French striker as one of the best-paid athletes in the world with €72m (£61m, $78m) salary! Naturally, Real Madrid will not match this salary due to its strict transfer-wage policy.
The Mbappé-Real Madrid soap opera has taken multiple twists and turns since 2017. Anything and everything is possible when it comes to recruiting the unpredictable French striker. Nevertheless, Mbappé is now determined to change scenery, whether to Real Madrid or another giant European club that can afford his stratospheric wages.
During an interview for GQ magazine, Mbappé hinted at the possibility of leaving. "At some point, I will have to leave my club. I am not afraid of change. I only think about continuing my career." and follow my own path."
Following Kylian Mbappé's declarations, there is much talk surrounding Nasser Al Khelaïfi and their mutual relationship. Many media outlets point out how the two struck a 'non-aggression pack', where the French striker's departure would not jeopardize the team's finances.
"I have not made a decision yet. But we have an agreement with the president that means that all parties are protected. My future is not an internal matter. We have to think about the team," said Mbappé on January 3 after becoming champion of the French Super Cup.
"In 2022, I didn't know my decision until May. If I knew what I wanted to do, I shouldn't let the decision drag on. It wouldn't make any sense. Nobody talks about my situation at the club, nobody is interested," added the Frenchman.
Real Madrid's interest in Kylian Mbappé dates back to 2012 when the French player was only 12 years old. The young footballer traveled to Spain to conduct a series of trials with Real Madrid. It was on that day, that Mbappé fell in love with 'Los Blancos'.
Real Madrid's first attempt to sign the French star occurred in the 2017 summer transfer window, while he played for Monaco Nevertheless, 18-year-old Mbappé, chose to return to his hometown to sign for PSG. A sweet deal that resulted in a €180m (£154m, $195.2) transfer.
Monaco's former vice president, Vadim Vasilyev revealed how Mbappé considered it a premature move. "He told me: Vadim, deep down, I feel that it is too soon. I have only played one year in my country, I am "I'm a Parisian and I don't want to leave my country like this. I want to become a great footballer. Madrid will have to wait," Vasilyev said on TF1 Telefoot.
The saga developed into a giant transfer soap opera between one of the world's most acclaimed football stars and arguably one of the greatest football clubs in the history of the sport. Many football fans around the world took his 2022 transfer rumor for granted and assumed the French star would play at the Bernabeu. Nevertheless, it all ended with a contract renewal following the immense pressure coming from the French government and Qatari interests.
Florentino Pérez and the club were not too happy with the outcome of the 2022 drama. The Real Madrid president was also caught by local television saying "this is not my Mbappé." There is a strange tension between both parties, yet they both can't ignore each other's presence.
The French striker refused to sign his contract extension back in 2023 and faced the consequences. The Parisian club excluded him from the Asia summer tour, leaving him behind.
We seem to be in the final season of the Mbappé-Real Madrid drama, and there seems to be an end in sight. Nevertheless, we will have to wait until the 2024 summer transfer window to know Mbappé's new home!
