Marlon Samuels: One of cricket's most controversial players cops another massive ban

Marlon Samuels, the former West Indian cricketer, has been banned from all cricket for six years for breaching anti-corruption rules.

Samuels was found guilty of breaking four rules during the 2019 Abu Dhabi T10 league. The hearing was initially held in August of this year.

One of the charges brought against Samuels was the failure to disclose the receipt of a payment or gift, “that could bring the participant or sport of cricket into disrepute.”

Samuels was also found, “guilty of failing to co-operate with, and of obstructing or delaying, the investigation by concealing information that may have been relevant,” per BBC reporting.

Samuels, now retired, was banned from the sport previously for giving information to an Indian bookmaker during an international series in 2007.

Not only has Samuels been banned multiple times for his suspect bowling action, he has previously clashed with two legends of the game in Shane Warne and Ben Stokes in heated on-field exchanges.
