Kevin Prince-Boateng lied about Real Madrid in order to play for Barcelona
Kevin Prince-Boateng was forced to lie about his true colors upon joining FC Barcelona in 2019, masking his true love for Real Madrid.
An FC Barcelona press officer pressured him to publically announce his "love" for Barcelona and how it was the greatest club in the world.
Boateng admits that he lied and claimed that he supported Barcelona instead in order to play for them. "I think anyone would have done the same, I wanted to pull on that shirt one time at Camp Nou," explained Boateng during an interview.
The ex-Hertha-Berlin icon admitted he was a lifelong Real Madrid fan. He fell in love with the Spanish club as a kid and always thought of them as the Spanish giants.
Boateng describes the situation as "one of the biggest lies he has ever told." When asked about Messi, the German striker wouldn't hesitate to label him the greatest player on earth. In truth, he was split between Messi and Cristiano.
Boateng had great respect for Messi, however, he felt the Argentinian forward lacked important leadership skills.
Boateng describes Messi's captaincy as rather unorthodox, "not the classic leader." The German international claimed Massimo Ambrosini was at Milan was the best captain he ever had.
