Andrea Piccolo leaves pro cycling behind to join the world of 'adult content'
Andrea Piccolo, a 23-year-old Italian cyclist who briefly led La Vuelta in 2023, has recently sparked controversy with an unexpected career change, leaving professional cycling behind for the world of adult content.
The Italian cyclist had been a part of renowned teams like Astana-Premier Tech, Gazprom-RusVelo, and Drone Hopper–Androni Giocattoli. He has claimed big results in the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race, Giro d'Italia, Tour Colombia, and Coppa Agostini.
He was recently expelled from EF Education–EasyPost after being caught up in a doping scandal. The Italian cyclist faced accusations of transporting human growth hormones and was detained by Italian authorities upon his return to his home country. This incident has cast a shadow over his cycling career, raising questions about his future in the sport.

"EF Pro Cycling has terminated Andrea Piccolo’s contract with immediate effect," EF shared on Twitter. "Piccolo was suspended internally without pay in March after taking a sleeping pill that was not approved by the team, although legal."
Piccolo was regarded as one of cycling's up-and-coming stars. He wore the leader's red jersey for one day at the Vuelta a España and was a junior Italian and European time-trial champion before turning professional, according to the Spanish publication Marca.
EF Pro Cycling added they "will cooperate fully with any investigation into the matter." The American cycling team is leaving no wiggle room for the Italian cyclist.
Following his expulsion from the cycling world due to growth hormones, Piccolo turned to a popular adult content website to maintain an income. His drastic career change marks a sharp departure from the sports world.
The 23-year-old Italian has become a sensation on the adult platform, where he charges a $20 monthly subscription for his content. Something completely different to the road.
Piccolo is highly active on social media, particularly Instagram, where he shares glimpses of his daily life and routines. The Italian cyclist has garnered a loyal following of 39.3k, showing his significant influence and popularity beyond just the sports world.
As adult content platforms gain traction online, questions swirl around cyclist Andrea Piccolo's future. While he's made headlines off the track, many wonder if he'll return to competitive cycling. Without a team and limited activity in the cycling world, his prospects remain uncertain. Only time will tell if Piccolo can make a comeback on two wheels or if his focus will shift elsewhere.
