You take a taxi, Uber, Cabify or similar, you arrive at your destination, you get off and, after a while, you remember that you left something in the car. In your case, it may be something ordinary, of daily use and kind of boring. However, if you consider that this happens about a thousand times a day worldwide, you can imagine that some other people leave behind weirder objects.

The weirdest objects left behind in an Uber car

You'd be surprised how strange or even scary these forgotten objects can be. Let's have a look. And meanwhile, if you're reading this in a taxi or Uber, you've been warned!

Lost & Found

Uber's now famous 'Lost & Found Index' compiles all objects, including the most outlandish ones, that people leave behind in their cars. Can you guess what's on the list?

Number 1: safety masks

Let's start with the most common thing Uber drivers found. It's logical that in a year like 2020, the most common thing forgotten in Ubers is the safety mask. That's understandable, although you should actually keep it on while riding in the taxi...

The absolute classics of Lost & Found...

After the number one accessory of 2020, common objects lost in an Uber are telephones, cameras, wallets, keys and backpacks.

...and other routine objects

Other classic forgettable objects in the Top 10 of Uber are headphones, glasses, vapers, IDs and water bottles.

Which are the most forgetful cities and worst hours?

The index also indicates the cities in the world with the most absent-minded customers. Tokyo, Johannesburg, Vienna, Milan, Perth, Cape Town, Munich, Malaga and London appear in the lead. In addition, the site shows that Friday and Saturday are the days on which Uber customers are most distracted. Understandable.

Some people left mice. Live ones.

But let's go to the strangest things ever left behind in an Uber. Starting with live mice. What were they for? They were supposed to be the food for a snake.

Expecto patronum

Yes, for some this item rings a bell, while others draw a blank. It's Harry Potter's magical wand.

Even wizards get distracted sometimes, and their wands have turned up in various taxis.

Teeth

There's mothers who leave bags of breast milk as well as people who forget their false teeth in the taxi. One specific client came back for it, explaining that he carried his teeth in his pocket and they must have fallen out.

The wonders of 5G

Another strange item left behind in an Uber car was a ouija board. It's almost as weird as the gas mask another customer forgot to take with them.

Forgotten foods

Someone must have gone hungry, or had a lousy children's birthday party, because they forgot 22 cupcakes and a skillet of mac and cheese in the car. However, that's not as bad as the person who forgot a cooler full of fish and a bucket of fresh shrimp in their Uber.

How can you even forget this?

It's difficult to understand that someone left his oxygen tank in the car. But it happened.

Luxury binoculars

Swarovski binoculars are not essential but they are unique. That's why it's so sad, and weird, really, to forget them in the car that takes you home

Fake hair

And what to think when there's a bag full of wigs or a hard-boiled egg in the back seat at the end of your shift? Both events have occurred.

Nightmare before Christmas outfits

Obviously, a lot of movie buffs pass through Uber. You can tell from the fact that they leave Mary Poppins umbrellas or Jack Skellington costumes (from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas') in the car.

Christmas and Halloween... the season of giving!

And speaking of Christmas, January 1 (New Year) and November 1 (Halloween) are the days on which Uber customers lose the most things!

$1,000 in cash

Last but not least, it's surprising how many customers leave cash in the back of the car - without it being a tip. More than a dozen clients have lost more than $1,000 each in an Uber in the past year.

Apple beats Samsung in the losses

By the way, Uber customers are nine times more likely to leave behind an Apple product than a Samsung item. Similarly, Gucci products are forgotten five times more than Chanel or YSL. It's an interesting case for psychologists to figure out why this difference is so big.
