Stars supporting the good cause

For once during this Fashion Week and Emmy season, the stars did not come together to celebrate beauty or their own successes. On September 29, they came to the monumental New York Public Library on 42nd Street to support a good cause.

George and Amal Clooney

George and Amal Clooney are the founders of the Clooney Foundation For Justice. This year, they held their first Albie Awards in New York City to honor people who defend justice at great personal risk. The couple managed to rally a lot of big stars for this important night. Let's have a look at the spectacular red carpet!

With Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber

Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber join George and Amal Clooney for a photo on the red carpet. Amal looks fabulous in her gold-beaded gown and Cindy can still stun the runway with her appearance in this black, satin cocktail dress.

Donatella Versace

While black was a popular color for the celebrity guests at this public-spirited event, Donatella Versace shone in her 2000s-style metallic dress. And watch the matching minibag! Look out Donatella, there are pickpockets in New York!

Drew Barrymore

Looking lovely in an elegant but sober black dress, Drew Barrymore came to the Public Library to support Amal and George Clooney for the inaugural Albie Awards.

Jodie Turner-Smith

The British actress turned heads with her dramatic Christian Siriano tulle dress and magenta-dyed hair. People magazine says she went for "high-fashion drama."

Dua Lipa

One of the biggest stars of the moment, Dua Lipa didn't skip this important evening, where the Clooneys emphasized that "sometimes governments fail us," and then individuals have to step up to protect others and make society better.

Always time for her fans

Dua Lipa wore a stunning Versace gown with gold buttons. And of course, she had some time to speak with the fans outside!

Gemma Chan

The English actress from 'Crazy Rich Asians' and 'Don't Worry Darling' looked stunning in a Jason Wu off-shoulder gown.

Julia Roberts

We've already seen Julia Roberts and her striking black suit with pink and green details in the jacket. She's a good friend of George Clooney and it was no surprise she came to the gala.

Julianna Margulies

Another longtime friend of the actor is Julianna Margulies. They've known each other since the early days of 'ER,' where she was nurse Carol Hathaway and Clooney was Doctor Doug Ross. It's so nice to see her on the red carpet in a shining sequined dress, and she looks fantastic with her 56 years!

On the steps of the famous New York Public Library

All this took place on the marble steps of the monumental New York Public Library. Model and influencer Lori Harvey takes a moment to pose in front of one of its classical columns, wearing a striking Burberry white-and-silver design with bowtie earrings.

Michelle Obama

The former First Lady was one of the guests honoring Albie Award winners. She stood out with her monochrome neon-pink suit. But it wasn't about her. Among the recipients of the Albie Awards was Justice Albie Sachs, a South African human rights campaigner after whom the awards have been named. Other people honored at the event included Dr. Josephine Kulea of Kenya’s Samburu Girls Foundation and Filipino journalist Maria Ressa.

Bruce Springsteen

George Clooney and Bruce Springsteen, each in their own gala style, have a chat before the rock singer makes his way to the stage and sings for those honored with an Albie Award.

John Oliver and Kate Norley

The 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' host was also there, and he brought his wife Kate Norley. She's a combat medic who also knows how to bring class to a celebrity gala in a fantastic black gown.

Aloe Blacc

The singer, songwriter, and rapper would perform for the guests at the Albie Awards gala, but first, he showed his impressive black suit with embroidered flowers and gold buttons to the photographers on the red carpet. He was one of the best-dressed attendants at the inaugural Albie Awards.

Stephanie March

The American actress, known for 'Law & Order: SVU,' among other productions, chose to wear black like many other celebrity guests. All attention was to go to the honorees of the awards gala, after all. Still, Stephanie March looked glamorous and vibrant.

Diane Sawyer

The journalist and former news anchor for ABC looked pleased and relaxed to be in front of cameras again. She wore a sober black suit but stood out for her disarming smile and loosely curled blonde hair. Sawyer is 76 years old, but you wouldn't guess it.

Oscar Isaac and Elvira Lind

The star of 'Moon Knight' and his wife came to the gala in style. He wore a classic tuxedo while she donned an eye-catching dress with statement shoulders.

Tracee Ellis Ross

The actress from 'Black-ish' always likes to contribute to a good cause. Her Alexander McQueen ball gown was simply stunning.

Meryl Streep

She spoke at the awards and walked the red carpet together with her daughter, actress Grace Gummer, and her son-in-law, the brilliant music producer Mark Ronson. A real power trio in showbiz!

Phoebe Dynevor

Actress Phoebe Dyvenor wore a satin gown that could have come straight from the set of 'Bridgerton.' She also took the time to talk to fans on the street.

Camila Morrone

The model wore a monochrome, velvet Burberry suit with satin elements, a spectacular choice for this gala.

Goodie bags

Walking home after a great night, Ethan Hawke and his wife Ryan join Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford. Another opportunity to admire the model's satin gown!

Simone Ashley

You can see the sheer coat on her shoulders, but 'Bridgerton'-star Simone Ashley also rocked a snowy white minidress under it. The British actress wouldn't miss the Clooney Foundation's gala for the world!

Zoey Deutch

You couldn't miss actress Zoey Deutch on the red carpet, even though she wore all red herself. The Michael Kors neckholder-dress with matching red lipstick was one of the sensations of the evening.
