'Smallville' star Tom Welling reportedly arrested
Tom Welling will forever be remembered as television’s Clark Kent, thanks to ‘Smallville’, the CW series that chronicled the superhero’s formative years. However, in recent hours, the actor has made headlines for a far less heroic reason.
Welling was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of a l c o h o l, according to reports from TMZ.
He was not involved in anything like a high-speed chase On the contrary, law enforcement officers reportedly picked up the actor in the parking lot of an Arby’s in Yreka, California.
Authorities told TMZ that Welling’s blood alcohol content was at or above the legal limit of 0.08% in the United States, leading to his arrest.
Despite the arrest, police noted that Welling was in stable condition, cooperative, and had not been involved in any accidents. He was released on bail just two hours after being taken into custody.
The incident occurred on the same day Welling had publicly wished his wife, Jessica Rose Lee, a happy birthday.

This is certainly not the birthday gift he had in store. The couple has been together since 2014, married since 2019, and shares two daughters.
Welling’s career took off in 2001 when he was cast as Clark Kent in ‘Smallville’. He would go on to portray the iconic character for ten seasons and 217 episodes.
Following the conclusion of ‘Smallville’, Welling made appearances in shows like ‘Lucifer’ and ‘The Winchesters’. However, he has largely stepped back from Hollywood, choosing instead to focus on a quieter life with his family.
In recent years, Welling has stayed connected to his ‘Smallville’ roots through ‘TalkVille’, a podcast he co-hosts with Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor on the series.
