Young people are changing the world. These are the singers that have achieved fame, changing their own world and also pushing boundaries in music, fashion and what it means to be a young star - before they have even reached 30 years old. Let's take a look at who they are and how they made it into the spotlight.

Olivia Rodrigo started out playing Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel series 'Bizaardvark', followed by the hugely popular Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.'

Her debut single 'Drivers License,' in January 2021 broke Spotify's record twice for most daily streams ever (for a non-holiday song) with over 17 million global streams. She's released more successful singles, including the catchy song 'Good4U,' and stayed at the number one spot for four weeks with her debut album 'Sour'.

Jeon Jung-kook is a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. He has stood out from the rest of the group by being a successful songwriter at such an early age.

In 2020 he released 'Still With You,' an interesting sound that Junkook produced himself. In February 2022, he became the Asian artist with most streams on Spotify during the first 24 hours after releasing his single 'Stay Alive.' He is set to take over the world with his creativity and his vision.

Doja Cat was just 16 when she started uploading her tracks to SoundCloud. But it was her single "Say So" from her 2019 album 'Hot Pink' which catapulted her career, tallying a massive half a billion Spotify plays.

She's since earned MTV's 2020 PUSH Best New Artist Award and a 2021 Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. She's on track to accomplish a lot, lot more.

All before his 18th birthday, The Kid Laroi (born Charlton Howard) had hit the top 10 in charts in more than a dozen countries. The young singer from Sydney is one of the fastest-rising music stars in the world.

He's got more than a billion streams across music platforms and was featured on Justin Bieber’s album, Justice. Elton John said to him, "you’re going to be one of the biggest artists in the whole wide world." Watch this space.

At age 12, Grace won the eleventh season of the NBC TV competition show 'America's Got Talent' (AGT), singing her original songs. She went on to release her first EP, 'Perfectly Imperfect,' followed by the full-length album, 'Just the Beginning.'

VanderWaal toured with Imagine Dragons in their 'Evolve World' Tour, and then she headlined her own 'Ur So Beautiful' tour. In 2017, she won the Radio Disney Music Award for Best New Artist and a Teen Choice Award. VanderWaal reprised the role of Stargirl in the 2022 sequel, Hollywood Stargirl, released on June 3, 2022, on Disney+.

He seems to have been around forever, yet he is STILL under 30 years old. The singer started out uploading videos to YouTube until Scooter Braun discovered him in 2008.

Bieber released his first single, 'One Time', at the age of 15. From there, his success skyrocketed and, despite his youth, he is one of the best-selling artists in history and happily married to Hailey.

Lorde (New Zealand, 1996)

She started in the music world at the age of 12. At 17 she became the youngest New Zealand artist to win a Grammy and the third youngest in the history of the awards. 'Royals' and 'Green Light' were huge hits.

Lorde provided the soundtrack to 'The Hunger Games - Mockingjay: Part 1' with 'Yellow Flicker Beat'. She took a trip to Antarctica which inspired her album, 'Solar Power' - a celebration of the natural world.

Koffee (Jamaica, 2000)

This Jamaican Pop singer, songwriter, rapper, and guitarist is from Spanish Town, Jamaica. After releasing her first few singles in 2017 and 2018, she signed with Columbia records and went on to make history. Koffee was named by Elle magazine as one of "10 Trailblazing Women Changing The Future You Need To Know".

She was the youngest person to ever win a Grammy - for her EP Rapture. She was also the only woman to have ever won in the Best Reggae Album category. Yet, there was a bit of controversy as the EP only included two Reggae tracks. Koffee released another album in 2022 to great critical acclaim.

In March 2018, Gray signed a record deal with Virgin Records before releasing her debut single "My Story". The artist initially generated a huge TikTok following where she made a name for herself at the age of 13.

The young singer has some really surprising statistics. According to Billboard, she is one of the top 10 music influencers on TikTok, with over 50 million followers and she earned an astonishing $2.4 million in 2019 in 2019, making her the fourth highest-earning TikTok star, according to Forbes.

Sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey make up CHLOE X HALLE, an American contemporary R&B duo. They started out by uploading covers to YouTube and wowing their fans with incredible harmonies and showing off a real musical talent.

It was when they did a rendition of Beyoncé's 'Pretty Hurts' that Chloe and Halle Bailey were snapped up by the record labels. Since, they have had a successful career together, but also solo. Halle has just starred in the 'The Little Mermaid' film, playing Ariel.

Harry Styles (UK, 1994)

Former member of the legendary boyband One Direction, Harry Styles is now a fully-fledged solo artist. He is not only considered a musical talent, but also an actor and one of the fashion icons of the new generation; as well as being one of the most desirable men on the planet.

Birdy (UK, 1996)

She became popular when she won the music talent show 'Open Mic UK' at the age of 12. The song that set her off in the days of her beginnings was a cover of Bon Ivy's 'Skinny Love'.

Her stage name comes from the nickname her family calls her, as she has mentioned on numerous occasions: "They call me that because when I was a baby I used to open my mouth like a bird to eat." In April 2021, the young singer released her fourth studio album.

Despite her early stage fright she made a name for herself on the show 'The X Factor' and was part of the group 'Fifth Harmony'. As a solo artist she started taking on the world in 2015, when she did a duet with singer Shawn Mendes 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (image).

In 2017 she released 'Havana', a single with which Camila Cabello achieved a resounding triumph. She has gone to make hit after hit solo and alongside great musicians such as Ed Sheeran.

Having collaborated with huge names like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, the world is, of course, expecting huge things from this young star. She became thrust into the spotlight as a solo artist when her duet with Sam Smith - 'Dancing with a Stranger' in 2019 - generated a Brit Award nomination.

The singer auditioned for the X Factor in 2012 and joined the group Fifth Harmony, giving her plenty of on-stage experience. That has helped her be on of the most prominent female artists of our time, being named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2020.

This artist is self-taught in music: he learned to play the guitar through YouTube tutorials. He started to rise to fame in 2013 when he uploaded covers to 'Vine'. In 2015, he released his first album 'Handwritten' which achieved extraordinary success in the United States, reaching number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Dua Lipa grew up in the music industry and has won numerous awards. She is currently a pop music icon around the world, as well as a fashion icon.

From Kosovar roots, she decided to move to London to pursue her dream in music. Dua Lipa uploaded cover songs to YouTube and then it all happened for the star. In 2015, she released 'New Love' followed by 'Be the One,' both of which were hugely successful. By the time she released her award-winning 2020 album 'Future Nostalgia,' Dua Lipa was already one of the best-paid British artists around.

Does the surname ring a bell? Miley's little sister is absolutely nothing liker her older sibling with a totally different vibe, style and agenda. Incredibly vocal about hers and other's mental health issues, her music is making waves for young people.

2017 was the year Noah came into the spotlight, supporting Katy Perry on tour and being named one of Time's 30 Most Influential Teens in 2017. This year? Noah Cyrus has been announced as special guest for Lewis Capaldi’s 2023 Australian and New Zealand tour so we expect many more things from this talented artist.

Lil Nas X (Montero Lamar Hill) is an American rapper and singer-songwriter. He became known with 'Old Town Road,' a song with Billy Ray Cyrus that went viral with the 'Yeehaw Challenge' on TikTok in 2019.

After reaching the top of international charts with 'Old Town Road,' Lil Nas X continued to release successful singles such as 'Montero (Call Me By Your Name)' and 'Industry Baby.' An outspoken gay artist, he is currently one of the mainstream rappers in the world .

After a tough childhood due to her parents' financial struggles, she decided at the age of 9 to help out the family. She thought about having a musical career and started doing dubbing and advertising work.

She entered the spotlight in 2011 and is now one of the best-known Latin pop artists in the world. She was awarded the Extraordinary Evolution Award at the 2019 Latin American Music Awards and doesn't look about to stop here...

At the age of 18, this singer began making music to solve her financial problems. Her stage name is an anagram of her real name, Ashley, and is also the name of a street in Brooklyn where she spent her teenage years.

With a name that is an acronym for 'Having Everything Revealed', how can she not be making waves in the 21st century? This young artist's first compilation album H.E.R. (2017) was nominated for five Grammy Awards, winning Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album. She was going to go far.

Magically creating incredible music, she was awarded the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for 'I Can't Breathe' in 2021. Then, her song 'Fight for You' from the film 'Judas and the Black Messiah', won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. From Nickelodeon to musical royalty.

From a family of artists, she is considered 'the goddess of the teenage music scene'. She became famous at the age of 13 with the single 'Ocean Eyes'. Billie Eilish didn't go to school as she was home-schooled and started writing songs at the age of 11.

Perhaps her biggest hit was 'Bad Guy', but in 2020, she co-wrote and performed the theme song "No Time to Die" for the James Bond film of the same name, which topped the charts again. It was also nominated for an Oscar.

Canadian singer/songwriter McRae earned her attention from MTV, Billboard and YouTube during quarantine with her hit single "you broke me first," which has more than 250 million streams worldwide to date.

From the age of 9, he had already showed his passion for music and his love for singing in public places. At that age he already played the piano and guitar to a level of perfection. But it wasn't until he was 17 that he officially started releasing music.

In 2018 he definitely rose to fame with 'Someone you Loved' and he reached the number one spot in numerous music charts around the world. Fans have loved watching this star rise to fame as he constantly posted about his good fortune on Instagram - with an air of complete disbelief.

Martin Garrix is a DJ and music producer who was awarded the title of best DJ in the world by DJ Mag. He'd started out teaching himself but soon after decided to study at the Herman Brood Academy, a music production school. That's where he met his friend Julian Jordan.

Martin Garrix's success started with 'Animals' in 2013. He then began experimenting with progressive house and has been producing tracks ever since, as well as starting his own record label and modelling for Armani. Quite the chap.

Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico, 1994)

Bad Bunny's genre is reggae-ton and Latin trap. Since he was a child, he had always wanted to dedicate himself to music and, before he became famous, he used to do small shows and upload videos to Instagram.

'Diles' was the track that caught the attention of production companies and from 2017 this sunglasses fanatic has been rising up as one of the most famous rappers in the world.

She rose to fame, like many on this list, thanks to her YouTube covers. It started in 2012, but then Justin Bieber tweeted about her cover of Etta James' song, 'At Last'. He then contacted her to sign her to his own label 'Islands Records.'

In 2019, Madison announced on her Instagram account that she had signed with Epic Records. It was only the beginning of more great music and epic collaborations.

She was one of the young artists who went through the talent show 'The Voice'. Afterwards, she went on tour, covering all the songs she had performed on the show and became very popular.

Martinez has released two albums 'Cry Baby' and 'K-12'. Her EP was released a year later in 2020, called 'After School.' She has become one of the most attractive pop stars of recent times. Her original hairstyle is inspired by Cruella de Vil, the villain from '101 Dalmatians.'

She first became famous in her home country after releasing 'Uncover' in 2013, but it wasn't until 2015 that she achieved worldwide recognition, with her tracks 'Lush Life' and 'Never Forget You'.

She is known for her roles in popular series like Disney's 'Girl Meets World' and movies such as 'Tall Girl'. Since 2014, when she released her debut EP 'Can't Blame a Girl for Trying' with Hollywood Records, she became very popular as a singer.

Carpenter has continued to release more albums while also appearing in movies (such as 'Tall Girl II' in February 2022). The singer, actress and voice artist is very close to her fans and spends a lot of time interacting with them through her Twitter account.

Troye Sivan (South Africa, 1995)

He started out in the world of music in 2006 and then, in 2013, he signed with an Australian music production company. Soon enough, Troye Sivan began to release his first songs, with which he gradually gained notable popularity. You may also recognize him from the big screen. For example, he played the younger Wolverine in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' (2009).

Sivan has been considered one of the most influential teenagers in the world due to the impact he has on his social networks. A member of the LGTBI community, he posted a video on YouTube, tearfully opening up and thanking his fans for being loyal to him and asking them to never give up on him.

He's a rapper but he would like to become a country singer one day. This versatile artist has already achieved worldwide fame, but he isn't about to stop and is on tour in 2023.

Bassett's self-titled debut EP was released in 2021, transforming him from Nickelodeon star to musician. He wrote, co-produced five of six tracks in the record, and played six instruments. That's right, the 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' star plays piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, drums, and some saxophone.

In 2022, Bassett announced he would be doing a debut concert tour featuring stops in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Later on that year, he made it onto the Variety Power of Young Hollywood Impact List for his charitable work and philanthropy.

An actress since the age of 8, her music career took a little longer to take off. It was in 2014 when she released her first single 'Flashlight', from the soundtrack of the film 'Pitch Perfect 2.'

Steinfeld continued to have hits like 'Starving' (with Grey featuring Zedd), 'Most Girls' and 'Let Me Go.' Recently she's done a lot of acting again, for example in the series 'Hawkeye' alongside Jeremy Renner.

She became known as a child model and actress before she started her career in music by releasing the singles 'Swag it out' and 'Watch me' in 2011. After signing with Hollywood Records in 2012 she released 'Replay' which became very popular.

Her performance in 'The Greatest Showman' showcased Zendaya's incredible voice, but in the past two years she has focused on becoming an acting star.

He started by creating an account on Vine where he was seen by millions of viewers - even before becoming famous. In 2017, he released his song 'Mine,' which swept the internet as it became a meme through a snapchat filter.

Lynch has worked for Disney since he was very young. He achieved fame thanks to his participation in the series 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' (the cast are in the photo) and continues to be a much-loved Disney persona.

Lynch is known for being one of the founding members of the pop rock band R5 and The Driver Era - both were musical projects with his brothers. His skills with instruments stand out, as he can play the drums, the piano, the guitar and the ukulele.

He is best known for his single 'Location', which was certified four times platinum in the US. According to Khalid himself, he wrote this track to impress a girl from high school but it didn't quite work out as he'd hoped. With the girl, that is...!

With time, Khalid uploaded some of his tracks to the SoundCloud platform but received negative feedback. Yet, he never gave up. And now he collaborates with other well known artists such as Marshmello, Imagine Dragons, Martin Garrix and others.

Here's another young artist who rose to fame thanks to social media. Megan Thee Stallion, a rapper from Houston, Texas, gained a lot of followers when she put videos of herself freestyling on Instagram.

In 2020, she released her debut album 'Good News,' which many critics considered one of the best albums of the year. Her song 'Savage' with Beyoncé (next to her at the 2021 Grammys) and her collaboration with Cardi B in the song 'WAP' became enormous hits. She is now a three-time Grammy award winner.

Having your song covered by Elton John, not bad at all! Ruel Van Dijk started writing songs at the age of 12. In 2015, he sent a demo of his song 'Let it go' to producer M-Phazes. A while later, Elton John grabbed hold of it and got so excited about Ruel's first single, he did his own cover.

With this single as a starting point, Ruel embarked on a tour with Angus and Julia Stone. He also joined well as with Khalid on his Australian tour. He became well known everywhere by releasing his famous tracks 'Don't Tell Me' and 'Younger'.

Many have heard of the surname - her sister, Maddie was a huge star of the Lifetime reality TV series, 'Dance Moms'. Mackenzie also appeared on the show for six years before working on TV, film and releasing surprisingly good albums.

People certainly want to know more about this young star, who now has two musical albums to her name with songs written by Sia. As of February 2022, Ziegler has more than 14 million Instagram followers, 22 million TikTok followers, 3 million YouTube subscribers, and one million Twitter followers.
