Many don't realize that the author of 'The Handmaid's Tale' is a Canadian! Award-winning author Margaret Atwood currently lives in Toronto and was born in Ottawa.

Even though Elon Musk was born in South Africa, his mother, Maye Musk hailed from Saskatchewan. So, the CEO of Tesla holds Canadian citizenship.

As is the case with Kim Cattrall, the association of 'Friends' with New York is so strong; one would never imagine one of its stars hails from the north! Matthew Perry grew up in Ottawa and holds dual Canadian/American citizenship.

The iconic funnyman John Candy was born and raised in Newmarket, Ontario. Candy even studied journalism at Centennial Community College.

Have you ever seen any of the old 'Cheech and Chong' films? Many Canadians don't even know that comedian Tommy Chong is, in fact, Canadian. Chong was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and has dual citizenship.
