Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher: controversies of a Hollywood couple
The actors' couple of Mila Kunis (1983) and Ashton Kutcher (1978) appears to be indestructible. Together for nearly ten years, they have weathered several controversies.
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis starred in the series 'That '70s Show' (1998-2005). At the time, they had no idea that, years later, in 2012, they would start a relationship and, in 2015, they would marry.
Since then, the couple have shown pure connection whenever they appear in public. The eager sports fans have been spotted in the stands of basketball, baseball and even ping pong games.
The couple have two children, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, born in 2014, and Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, born in 2016.
In 2019, the couple denied rumors about the end of their marriage. Through a humorous video, they pretended to be surprised by showing the cover of the magazine responsible for the false news.
That same year, Demi Moore, ex-wife of Ashton Kutcher, had recounted some negative things about her relationship with the actor in her biography.
Demi Moore said the relationship was "toxic" and that his infidelities led her to drink too much.
According to Hollywood Life, Mila Kunis was upset about the publication. Ashton Kutcher decided not to delve further when talking about his time with Demi Moore. He limited himself in a podcast to saying that he maintains contact with the daughters Demi Moore had previously had with Bruce Willis, suggesting that there is no bad blood with his ex.
In 2021, the couple came under fire after they declared in the Armchair Expert' podcast that they rarely washed their children.
The couple confessed to Dax Shepard (and the world) that they only use soap on a daily basis to wash the most essential areas of their bodies. They also admitted that they do not shower or bathe their kids very frequently.
“I don't wash my body with soap every day," said Mila Kunis. The actress did admit she does wash the essential areas daily, such as her underarms, chest, private parts, and feet. Whereas her husband Aston Kutcher said all he needs is a single bar of soap because... “I wash my armpits and crotch daily and nothing else ever.”
However, the couple did admit to washing their faces more frequently, with Mila wash her face twice a day, and Ashton said he washes his face after workouts "to get all the salts out." Dax Shepard's co-host, Monica Padman, was quite surprised by the couple's lack of washing.
“I can't believe I'm in the minority here of washing my entire body in the shower. Who taught you not to wash?” asked Monica Padman (pictured) to the guests.
Mila Kunis, who grew up in the Soviet Union, replied that as a child, she didn't have hot water at home: "I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn’t shower much anyway." Kunis carried this habit into adulthood and is now passing it on to her children.
"When I had children, I also didn’t wash them every day," Kunis said candidly. "I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns -- ever."
In fact, according to the couple, they only wash their kids when they are obviously dirty and/or fail the "stink test."
“We haven't washed them for, like, six years!” joked the father of Wyatt, age 6, and Dimitri, age 4. Ashton then went on to clarify, "If you can see the dirt on them, clean them,” he said. “Otherwise, there’s no point.”
And while the internet freaked out about Ashton and Mila's oversharing about their children's bathing habits, dermatologists and paediatricians actually think they are doing the best thing!
Daniel Ganjian, a paediatrician at Providence Saint John's Hospital Center in Santa Monica, California, told 'Insider,' "Our body makes natural oils to protect our hair and skin. It's good to keep those natural oils going."
Depending on the age of the child, bathing advice varies, but according to
The American Academy of Dermatology Association, babies should be bathed twice a week, and older kids at least once. Paediatrician Daniel Ganijan also told 'Insider' that if you do wish to bathe your child daily, do so without soap, and just use soap and shampoo once a week, as it is better for the child's skin.
Despite the rumours, terrible stories about former relationships, and controversies surrounding their personal hygiene, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis face any obstacle with a smile and appear to continue as a stable and loving couple. It seems that they are indestructible.
