Jonathan Majors caught in an alleged domestic dispute

According to BBC News, the police placed a 33-year-old man under arrest for an alleged domestic dispute with a 30 years old woman in late March 2023. "The victim informed police she was assaulted," an NYPD spokesperson said.

It happened in Chelsea, NY

"Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition," said the spokesperson from the NYPD.

Jonathan Majors was arrested

Initially, there was only information about the arrest of an unknown person but, in this account of the events by the deputy commissioner of the NYPD, and collected by TMZ, the arrested person soon turned out to be actor Jonathan Majors.

The victim was probably his girlfriend

The identity of the victim has not been revealed, but TMZ suggests that the woman was the actor's partner. They got the information from police sources.

Fighting in a taxi

These same sources informed TMZ that the couple had an argument in a taxi while they were returning home from a Brooklyn bar.

Suspicious messages to another woman

The trigger for the discussion, according to police sources, would have been a number of messages that Jonathan Majors allegedly sent to another woman. Their discovery led to an argument that got out of hand.

Arrested the next day

After spending the night separated, the alleged victim went to the police in the morning and filed a complaint. After that, the actor was arrested.

Accused of assault and harassment

The Manhattan Criminal Court accused Jonathan Majors of misdemeanor assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment. He was released without bail.

"He's done nothing wrong"

A few hours after the events, a representative of Jonathan Majors contacted various media outlets to defend the actor. "He's done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

"Innocent"

Priya Chaudhry, a criminal lawyer defending Jonathan Majors in the process, has told TMZ that Majors is "innocent" and that he will seek "all charges will be dropped imminently."

Is there evidence of the facts?

The lawyer says that they have evidence proving the actor's innocence, including video images from inside the vehicle where the alleged events occurred. They also say they have testimonies of the driver and other witnesses.

Victim "recanted"

In addition, Priya Chaudhry told media outlets such as the LA Times that she received "two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations" within days of the arrest. Still the actor has to appear in court in May.

His career on stand-by

While the police and judges determine what really happened, Jonathan Majors' career is in momentary limbo. One has to wait and see to find out if the actor makes the leap to stardom or falls into oblivion in Hollywood.

Army suspended his campaign

Majors was the narrator of a U.S. Army recruitment campaign, 'Be All You Can Be.' According to a statement cited by the LA Times, the army has temporarily suspended the campaign until there is more clarity about Majors' guilt in this case.

He won't be talking to potential recruits for a while

"While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete," the Army declared.

Jonathan Majors plays Dame Anderson in 'Creed III'

The incident took place at a key moment in the actor's career. He stars in 'Creed III' as Damian 'Dame' Anderson, the great rival of Donnie Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan.

Key role in the MCU

What's more, he may have a big future with Marvel. Majors appeared as Kang the Conqueror in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,' which is said to be the main plot of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Kang was going to be Thanos but...

Kang is supposed to be the Thanos of the new phase in the Marvel story. But if Jonathan Majors is found guilty, it may be hard for him to continue with Marvel. There's a lot at stake, therefore, on the judge's decision.
