Andy Hui received a big boost in his career and public recognition in 2004 when Alan Tam named him as one of Hong Kong’s ‘New Four Heavenly Kings’ together with Edmond Leung, Hacken Lee, and Leo Ku.

Some of his biggest hits include ‘Do You Really Have Me In Your Heart’, ‘Who Else Can I Love’, ‘You Are Irreplaceable’ and ‘Everything Will Pass’.
Andy Hui was recognized as one of ‘Ten Outstanding Young Persons’ in 2005 for his work in music and film. He was awarded this accolade as an appreciation for his commitment to the community.
In the 2006 TVB Anniversary Awards, he was nominated as ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Favourite Male’ for his role in the TVB drama ‘To Grow with Love’. Similarly in the 42nd Golden Bell Awards in 2007, he was nominated as ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his role in the Taiwanese drama ‘Silence’.
According to AsiaOne, Sammi Cheng, Hong Kong’s “Cantopop Queen”, married Andy Hui in November 2013.
It is speculated that the pair have been in an on-and-off relationship for more than two decades since they were first linked together in 1991.

According to AsiaOne, Andy Hui was caught cheating on Sammi Cheng together with Jacqueline Wong in the back of a taxi in 2019.
The report states that the entire incident was captured in a 16-minute dashcam footage in the vehicle, clearly showing Jacqueline Wong flirting with Andy Hui and making advances on him.
The video was leaked to the press by the cabbie, who profited from the video leak.

In the aftermath of the cheating scandal between him and Jacqueline Wong, Andy Hui held a press conference admitting to the affair. He publicly bowed and apologized to his wife, Sammi Cheng, as well as his family, friends, and fans.

According to The Straits Times, Andy also announced that he would be putting all his work activities on hold until he returns to the ‘right path’. He reportedly had to cancel his concerts after his sponsors pulled out of the deal following the scandal.

In an Instagram post she uploaded, she said that she held hands with her husband and prayed together with him, hoping that the calm would return after the storm. She also accompanied the post with a picture of a biblical quote on love and faith, showing that she stood in solidarity with him.

Immediately after the cheating scandal broke, TVB announced that actress Roxanne Tong would be replacing Jacqueline Wong in her role in the television series ‘Forensic Heroes IV’, The Straits Times reported. The reshoot was said to cost the television broadcaster more than HK$10 million.

The station reportedly also shelved other drama productions that Jacqueline is involved in due to negative public backlash. These dramas include ‘The Offliners’, ‘Handmaidens United’ and ‘Finding Her Voice’.

According to 8 Days magazine, public sentiment towards Jacqueline was so bad that they were not even willing to hear her voice on the theme song for the TV series ‘Come Home Love: Lo and Behold’. Thus, it was quickly replaced by another song.
