Four days of inauguration parties for Donald Trump: these artists will perform
For the first time since Grover Cleveland (1893), a president will be sworn in for the second time but in a non-consecutive term.
Donald Trump is celebrating his victory and takes four days with multiple events to do so. Who are the stars brightening this global event?
Before the official proceedings at the Capitol, on January 20 at noon, there will be a typically Trumpish Victory Rally on Sunday the 19th.
Besides the Liberty University's Praise Choir, Kid Rock will also be present at the Victory Rally. He's long been a Trump supporter.
Another star performing at the rally is Billy Ray Cyrus, the country singer of songs like 'Achy Breaky Heart' and the father of Miley Cyrus.
Last but not least, the disco group Village People performs at the rally, ensuring its audience will dance and sing along.
The group has provided the soundtrack of Donald Trump's campaign in his second victory for the White House.
It may be surprising for a conservative president to invite a group that was a reference for the LGTBIQ+ movement in the 70s.
However, the songs of The Village People have sounded at all of the Republican candidate's rallies. Especially 'YMCA' and 'Macho Man' have often been heard at Trump's political gatherings. They are likely to be the ones they will sing at the event on January 19, and again on the Liberty Ball on January 20.
The disco band, through their official Facebook account, explains why it is performing at a Republican celebration. "We believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics," The Village People state.
They continued on Facebook: "Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost."
Along with these confirmed performances, country artist Lee Greenwood will also appear at the Victory Rally.
The country singer will also perform as Donald Trump leaves the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 20th.
During the official inauguration ceremony on January 20th, another country singer will have an important role: Carrie Underwood. The artist rose to fame on 'American Idol' and is one of America's favorite stars.
She will perform 'America the Beautiful' minutes before Donald Trump is sworn in at the U.S. Capitol, Associated Press reports.
In a statement sent to Time magazine by the artist, she says that it is "an honor to be a small part of this historic event." It will be seen by millions of people around the world.
Opera singer Christopher Macchio will be in charge of performing the United States National Anthem at the end of the official program on the 20th.

As the national hymn is sung, the outgoing president Joe Biden may hum along. He will attend his political rival's inauguration, as opposed to Trump, who skipped Biden's inauguration in 2021.
