Stars and series that were surprisingly 'forgotten' by the Emmys
At this year's Emmy Awards, on September 12, three series were the absolute champions: 'Succession' (HBO), 'Ted Lasso' (Apple+), and 'The White Lotus' (HBO). But some illustrious names were ignored at the 2022 awards, and we wonder why!
Already in the list of nominees, some of the most distinguished actors and actresses - like Hunter Schafer and Jennifer Aniston - were missing.

They nominated the entire cast of 'Only the Murders in the Building', except Selena Gomez. And, let's face it, she is on a par with the excellent Martin Short and Steve Martin.
In the end, Martin Short and Steve Martin also missed out. The only Emmy for a (guest) cast member of the funny murder mystery was that for Nathan Lane, who plays the annoying Greek neighbor Teddy Dimas in the series.

And what about 'Succession'? They nominated all the actors and actresses in the main cast except for Alan Ruck! It was an insult to the Roys' honor.
He may seem like a straightforward guy in the series, but within the simplicity he presents, there's a complex past shining through. Connor Roy seems a difficult role to play, but for the Academy, he was not worth an Emmy.
If you know the series, it's only fitting that out of the entire cast, Matthew Macfadyen was the one who took home an Emmy for his role in 'Succession.'
Two lead actors in 'Succession,' Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox, competed for the Emmy Award, only to see Lee Jung-Jae from 'Squid Game' walk away with it. Again, it's a fascinating analogy to the storyline of the series.
Her partner and friend Reese Witherspoon was nominated, but was Jennifer Aniston's performance on 'The Morning Show' of lesser quality?
Jennifer Aniston's character, Alex Levy, keeps growing with every episode. In the end, though, none of the nominees from 'The Morning Show' got an Emmy Award.
One of the best Disney Plus productions failed to get a single nomination for the 2022 Emmys. Not even the great actor Pedro Pascal got a nod from the Academy.
It was a shame not to have 'The Boys' - including the superhero that we love to hate, Antony Starr (in the photo), or Karl Urban and Erin Moriarty - among the nominees.
There was a good reason for their absence. The latest season of the Amazon series did not premiere within the stipulated period to compete this year.

Surely, Ewan McGregor would have had a nomination for his performance in this series, but there was a problem.

Released on 27 May, Disney did not want to send the Emmy committee any more episodes than the two it had just released, even though the deadline was four days later. Because of that technicality, the series was left without any possible nominations.

The second season of 'Euphoria' presented a character of overwhelming complexity but, for the Emmys, it was not enough.
Her character Kate Bishop is set to dominate Marvel's new era. Her debut in 'Hawkeye' was sweeping, funny, and compelling, but not enough to earn her an Emmy nomination.
The 2022 Emmy Awards selected series premiering between 1 June 2021 and 31 May 2022. For that reason, the big winner of 2021 will have to wait a year to regain its crown.
In fact, the next batch of episodes of this historical drama will not arrive until November. 'The Crown' will not be eligible for any awards this year.

As the first part of the fourth season premiered on May 27, the series as a whole made it into the Best Drama Series nominations. However, what happened to the actors' nominations? Sadie Sink? Millie Bobby Brown? Nothing at all?

It remains to be seen if these nominations jump to 2023. We'll have to wait a year to find out.
