An electronic travel authorization (ETA) is a digital permit to travel anywhere in the UK. Canada and the US have similar systems that debuted a few years ago.
How much will the ETA cost?
The cost will be between £10 and £13, depending on the exchange rate and your nationality.

The application process is quick and easy. People apply for an ETA via the 'UK ETA app' or by searching 'Apply for an ETA to visit the UK' on the UK government site.

Is the ETA necessary for all nationalities?
No, only for some. People who have a British or Irish passport, permission to live, work, or study in the UK, or have a visa to enter the UK do not need an ETA.
Which nationalities need the ETA to enter the United Kingdom?
This requirement was established on November 15, 2023 for Qatari citizens. Its second stage started on February 22, 2024 for citizens of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
What if they don't accept my application?
If your application is not accepted, you must apply for a visa allowing you to visit the UK. For this reason, we recommend that, before starting any travel plan, the ETA procedure is the first thing you do.
Why is the United Kingdom implementing this requirement?
By registering for the permit, you will give the British government access to biographical, biometric, and contact data. The country will have greater knowledge of those visiting it and be able to prevent the arrival of people who may pose a threat.
When does it come into force?
If your country has not been mentioned in this gallery, you won't need an ETA until the end of 2024. More nationalities will be added to the regulation over time and you can check it out through the UK government page.

The ETA will be valid for all trips you make to the United Kingdom for a period of two years.
