Trump blames Biden in threatening speech after guilty verdict
Former president Donald Trump has been found guilty in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial and he had some pretty strong words for the press following his conviction.
Moments after the verdict, Trump spoke to the press and made some strong statements such as "I'm a very innocent man.And it's OK, I'm fighting for our country...This is long from over."
Trump's comments were blunt and unsurprisingly confident for a man who was just found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
This is a historical verdict that places Donald Trump as the first former president of the United States to be convicted of a serious crime, with the addition that he could be president again at the end of the year.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg did not want to clarify whether Donald Trump will have a conviction that would put him in prison. To find out, we will have to wait until July 11, the date on which the sentence has been set.
Donald Trump took advantage of the verdict to attack his political rival, warning that "The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people," he commented at a press conference outside the court, in statements reported by The New York Times.
Trump then went on to blame American president Joe Biden for his conviction saying, "This was done by the Biden administration in order to vote to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. And I think it's just a disgrace."
Donald Trump went on claiming that America is in decline saying, "We'll fight till the end and we'll win. Because our country's gone to h e l l. We don't have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We're a nation in decline, serious decline."
However, Trump is not the only one who used this moment for politics. Joe Biden, the current president of the United States, and his team saw their rival injured and wanted to put the finishing touch on him.
The Biden campaign said in a statement that the verdict proves that "no one is above the law." On X Joe Biden wrote, "There’s only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: At the ballot box. Donate to our campaign today."

Per CNN, Michael Tyler, Communications Director of Joe Biden's campaign told the press, “The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution.”
Tyler continued, “A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans’ freedoms and fomenting political violence – and the American people will reject it this November."
What about Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? Prior to appearing at a cryptocurrency convention in Austin, Texas, the presidential hopeful refused to give much attention to the matter when asked for comment by reporters.
As reported by CNN, Kennedy said, “I’ve been disciplined about not commenting on the court cases and talking about issues that I think are of deep concern to Americans, and not the issues that, you know, are being used to divide us, the culture war issues. I’m not going to comment on it.”
With only five months to go until the elections, it seems coincidental that the name of Donald Trump's whistleblower, Stormy Daniels, has caused this unexpected storm in the Republican candidacy.
We will just have to wait and see if Trump will still be able to pull off a win in November or if the American public has had enough of Trump's antics.
