This is where U.S. troops are stationed overseas
The United States military has tens of thousands of soldiers stationed overseas who are ready to deal with any problems that arise across the globe. But did you know that some countries have far more troops stationed in them than others?
It makes a lot of sense that certain nations have a large presence of U.S. troops on their soil. The United States has several treaties with countries in many global hotspots and it really doesn’t matter if you’re a former foe or recent ally.
Americans are actually quite good at retaining a presence in countries where they were once engaged in combat, so it makes sense that some nations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East still have a rather large presence of American troops.
However, you might be surprised by the large number of American soldiers who are still present in some countries. Let’s take a look at the top ten as well as the total number in the world according to March 2024 research from the Defense Manpower Data Center complied by Visual Capitalist.
