There are some footballers who, for one reason or another, have not been able to cement their status as Premier League legends.

'Streets won't forget'

However, some players are still fondly remembered by those who watched them play. They are often referred to as players the 'Streets won't forget.'

Showboating

In simpler terms, it's the players who wowed fans with their showboating ability or a player who had a one-season wonder and fell off the radar.

The players

Let's look at the Premier League players the 'Streets won't forget.'

Michu

After joining Swansea City from Spanish team Rayo Vallecano in July 2012 for £2 million, nothing was expected of the Spanish striker to turn up in the Premier League.

One season wonder

Michu set the Premier League on fire in his first season, scoring an astounding 18 Premier League goals in 35 games and winning a League Cup medal in the process. He had a poor second season and moved back to Spain in 2015.

Hatem Ben Arfa

Hatem Ben Arfa was an outrageously good footballer at his peak for Newcastle United, and he could have reached the top of the game if his attitude was better.

Greatest solo goal

Ben Arfa was described as "one of the best-rated talents in France" and wowed Premier League fans with his solo goals and showboating ability, scoring one of the best solo goals against Bolton. He later went back to France.

Adel Taarabt

Like Ben Arfa, former QPR and Tottenham star Adel Taarabt had a unique showboating ability and created some of the greatest moments of skill the league has ever seen.

'So much ability'

According to dailymail.co.uk, his former teammate Peter Crouch said: "He was more interested in trying to nutmeg a defender than play the sensible pass. He had so much ability but never put it together."

Andry Arshavin

An unbelievable player at his peak, Andry Arshavin joined Arsenal from Zenit in 2009 after a superb performance at the European Championships in 2008.

Superb solo performance

The Russian was hot and cold for Arsenal in his four years at the club, but four goals away from home against Liverpool in 2009 was one of the most remarkable performances in Premier League history as Arsenal drew 4-4.

Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba

A 'streets won't forget' list had to include the famous Newcastle strike partnership of Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse, who scared the life out of defenders in the 2011-12 season.

Turning to gold

Between them, the African duo scored 29 goals in the season, finishing tap-ins and scoring the most absurd goals. Everything they touched turned to gold.

Andy Johnson

Andy Johnson had a solid career in the Premier League, having spells with Everton, Fulham, and Crystal Palace in the 2000s.

Second top scorer

The hard-working forward had a season to remember in the 04-05 campaign for Crystal Palace, finishing as the league's second-top scorer by netting 21 goals. He would never quite reach those heights again.
