NBA bad boy Ja Morant facing a "significant suspension" for gun video

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was suspended again by the organization this week after videos of him appearing to hold a gun surfaced online.

The Grizzlies All-Star looks as though he is going to miss a significant number of games next season since it's the second time he's showcased a gun online.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said, "I think Ja Morant is facing a lengthy, a significant suspension to start next season, if indeed that was a firearm in his hand in that video."

With this situation happening twice in a short space of time, Morant is not just affecting Memphis, he's staining the image of the league.

The incident in question happened last Saturday night, as Morant flashed a gun for a brief second on Instagram Live when he was hanging out with his 'friends.'

Morant was banned from the NBA for eight games just two months ago after posting a video of him holding a gun at a Colorado nightclub.

Morant's last year has been filled with controversy, starting last summer, in which he was accused of threatening security at a mall and punching a 17-year-old boy during a pickup game in his hometown.

In a recent statement from Morant, shared on Adrian Wojnarowski's Twitter account, Morant said: "My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I'm committed to continuing to work on myself."

Ja Morant is a role model to thousands of kids across the world, and with three significantly bad incidents in the last year, the NBA will crack down on his behavior with a long-term suspension.

The start of the NBA season looked superb for Memphis, matching Denver on top of the Western Conference, going into January and Ja Morant saying, "I'm fine in the West" after speaking to ESPN's Malika Andrews.

After an injury to Steven Adams and the controversy created by Morant and teammate Dillon Brooks, The Grizzlies finished second in the West, winning 51 games and losing 31.

In 61 games for The Grizzlies in the regular season, Morant averaged 26.2 points per game, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.

Morant and Memphis came up against the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James in the opening round of the playoffs.

The Grizzlies proved that a lack of senior leadership and too much arrogance can't win championships, losing to The Lakers in six games, being blown out in the final matchup by 40 points.

Morant averaged 24.6 points, seven assists, and 6.8 rebounds in five games against LA, proving to not be enough and sending Memphis home.
