Mike Tyson sued after Jake Paul fight: Another seven-figure scandal?
Mike Tyson can't catch a break following his Jake Paul fight in Texas. The former heavyweight champion (now 58) has allegedly failed to promote Rabona, a betting company that claims this contract breach lost them around $1.6 (£1.3/ €1.5) million, according to the Daily Express.
Mike Tyson's legal team released a formal statement following the lawsuit filed by Medier (marketing agency), claiming the boxing icon didn't breach any contracts with the company based in Cyprus. In fact, they claim it was the other way around.
"It is the company's position that Medier Ltd. materially breached the terms of its license agreement on multiple occasions and in various ways. As such, Tyrannic, LLC was well within its legal and contractual rights to terminate the license agreement for material breach in an effort to mitigate additional reputational harm to the Tyson brand," shared Tyson's legal team.

According to Mike Tyson's team, the marketing company failed to fulfill their terms which made the original contract unworkable, giving reasons to terminate it.
Mike Tyson's legal team has been very busy in the last couple of years following large figure lawsuits, keeping the former heavyweight champ out of trouble.
Back in April 2022, Mike Tyson punched Melvin Townsend, a passenger onboard a San Francisco-Florida flight, following an incident mid-flight.
Footage of the incident was published on TMZ, where you could see the passenger bothering Tyson from behind his seat. After holding out for a few minutes, Tyson turned around and started beating Townsend.
After the incident, Tyson left the aircraft while the passenger received treatment onboard the plane. Townsend didn't suffer any serious injuries, but yet, it is Mike Tyson we are talking about here. The former boxing champion went to report the incident himself to the local police.
At that time, as reported by TMZ, the San Mateo County District Attorney decided not to file charges against Tyson, claiming that it was the victim's conduct that led to the incident.

There were no criminal consequences for Tyson as he didn't face any charges, however, it was another 'loud' scandal added to his long list of legal issues.
According to the New York Post, Jake Jondle, the lawyer for the victim, Melvin Townsend, sent a letter to Mike Tyson's lawyer, Alex Spiro, where he listed his client's pre-litigation demands.
Jake Jondle was asking for a $450,000 compensation, which, according to the petition, would have covered the legal bills of the incident, as well as possible future treatments.
Furthermore, the lawyer assured in his letter that Townsend "was still suffering the effects of the attack," according to the New York Post.
From the defense side, they labeled it as "blackmail" and confirmed that "there will be no undue payment."
Tyson's lawyer confirmed to TMZ Sports that Townsend did not only bother the former boxing champion, but also assaulted him with bottled water. "It seems that the matter will still give more to talk about."
