Flying under Ange

Tottenham have been flying to start the Premier League season under Ange Postecoglou, sitting in second place behind Manchester City on 17 points.

Selling Kane

Many critics were worried about Tottenham's season after selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, but so far, the England captain hasn't been missed.

Attacking football

Ange Postecoglou's style is a free-flowing style of football, with players committed to breaking forward to give as many options to the attacking players as possible.

Son and Maddison

Heung Min Son has been in the goals again, with James Maddison supplying the creative genius to put balls on the plate for his strikers.

Richarlison struggling

One player who has struggled to benefit from Tottenham's new brand of attacking football is Brazilian striker Richarlison, who has only scored one goal in the league this season.

Last season

Richarlison joined Spurs for £60 million, and his first full season for the club couldn't have gone much worse, scoring one goal in the league.

'Flop of the season'

According to talksport.com, speaking in May this year, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara said, "You look at Richarlison, how many chances is he going to have? For me, he's the flop of the season."

'A goal every ten games'

"He's going to cost Spurs £60million, three goals in 33 games in all competitions. A goal every ten games, one goal in 25 Premier League games, one goal since September."

30 Prem goals

With Harry Kane leaving the club, the onus has been on Richarlison to pick up where Kane left off, with the England player scoring 30 Premier League goals last season.

Defensive minded

Under Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho, Tottenham developed a more defensive style of play, using five defenders at the back and nullifying their attacking options.

Celtic record

Under Postecoglou last season, Celtic had a record year in front of goal, scoring 114 goals and averaging three goals every game they played.

Son is shining

With Heung Min Son starting as the number nine in Ange's system, the South Korean has scored six goals in seven matches in the league this season.

Playing off the left

The Australian coach has started playing Richarlison off the left side of the pitch, sparing him of goal-scoring responsibilities, with Son playing so well as the number nine.

Not good enough

Whichever way you look at it, since Richarlison joined Spurs in 2022, two Premier League goals in 34 league games for £60 million is of sour reading.

Kickstarting his Spurs career

Spurs have a much friendlier run in the Premier League for the next five games. The North London club will hope the Brazilian can get his Tottenham career underway before the new year.

Luton away

Their next game is away to newly promoted Luton Town on Saturday before they face Fulham and Crystal Palace.
