Is NBA superstar Steph Curry better at golf than basketball?

As everyone knows, Steph Curry is one of the greatest basketball players of all time and the best shooter in NBA history.

After a poor loss in the NBA Playoffs to the Los Angeles Lakers, Curry has recently shown the world he can compete with the pros in the golf game.

The Golden State Warriors star man won his first celebrity golf tournament at the weekend, securing the American Century Championship.

Curry finished his tournament in style, sinking an 18ft putt for Eagle on the par five 18^th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

Under the modified Stableford rules, Curry scored six points for his eagle on the 18^th, finishing him on 75 points, two points ahead of second place Mardy Fish.

Fish was three points ahead of Curry going into the 18^th hole, but he parred the last, helping Curry take his first piece of golf silverware home.

According to dailymail.co.uk, Curry said: "I don't do this for a living, so it's something you dream about. I've been playing in this tournament for almost a decade, and now I've got some hardware to show for it."

If an eagle to win wasn't enough, Curry went viral on Saturday, acing the 152-yard par three seventh hole, showing everyone his excitement as he raced up the course to pick his ball from the hole.

Curry is the first black winner of the tournament since its inaugural showing 34 years ago. He also becomes the fifth active athlete to win the American Century Championship.

His first-place purse of $125,000 will be donated to charity as Curry is an amateur golfer.

The question on people's minds now is, is Steph Curry good enough to play professionally on one of golf's pro tours?

Curry has competed on the Korn Ferry Tour, the G-League comparison to the NBA, posting respectable scores in the 70s but failing to make a cut.

According to sfgate.com, Samuel Puryear, head coach of Howard University, said: "He generates a good amount of club head speed through the impact zone and, especially on his approach shots, he puts a lot of spin on the ball."

Andrew Larkin, a former professional golfer and now head coach at Santa Clara University, believes Curry isn't good enough to make it to the pro level.

Larkin said: "It's almost the equivalent of the best guy in your rec league trying to say he can go make it through the G-League."

It's safe to say Steph Curry will not become a professional golfer any time soon, with his focus still on bringing more championships to Golden State. However, in the future, who knows where he will be?
