The January transfer window is often anti-climatic with teams unwilling to sell players during the middle of the season. However, with teams across football looking to fight for league and cup honours, now could be the perfect time to inject some fresh blood into their team.

Ivan Toney to Arsenal

Reports suggest this transfer is unlikely in January given Brentford’s £100 million valuation on their star striker, but given Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal, perhaps they take a big swing as they fight for the Premier League?

Karim Benzema to Manchester United

Benzema is currently training away from the first-team squad at Al-Ittihad after seemingly falling out of love with his new Saudi team very quickly. United are in desperate need of a goalscorer and are one of the few clubs that could afford to give Benzema wages similar to what he is used to in the Gulf. The Mirror have even reported United have made their interest known to Benzema's camp.

Kalvin Phillips to Newcastle

Newcastle were one of the most impressive teams in Europe last year, combining rock-solid defense with incredible defence. This season, they are leaking goals and can’t seem to control games as they once did. Phillips is surplus to requirements at Man City and could be the perfect addition for Eddie Howe’s team.

Timo Werner to Manchester United

Manchester United are in the midst of a bizarre season where it seems they are struggling in every game but often seem to sneak a win. Like many teams, they are keen on adding some offensive firepower and see Werner as the best option. Despite his struggles in the Premier League in previous seasons, there aren’t many realistic targets in this window.

Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United has been tumultuous to say the least, now it seems like a separation is nearing with Borussia Dortmund interested in bringing back their former star winger. Dortmund are well off the pace so far in the Bundesliga and need a boost, perhaps Sancho is the man?

Radu Dragusin to Tottenham

Spurs have been flying so far this season under the new management of Ange Postecoglou, but now it looks like they have their sights set on bringing in defensive reinforcements with the addition of Dragusin from Genoa. The 21-year-old is highly rated and should give the Lilywhites the boost they need to secure Champions League football and beyond.

Antonio Silva to Chelsea

Chelsea’s strategy of buying every young player in Europe has produced mixed results so far, but it seems like they are set to continue with it regardless. The latest wunderkind on their wishlist is Benfica’s Antonio Silva. A tall and elegant centre-half, Silva would add a different dimension to Chelsea’s defence as they look to improve in the second half of the season.

Martin Zubimendi to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is reportedly an admirer of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as he looks to perfect his Arsenal squad. Drawing comparisons to Sergio Busquets, Zubimendi is unlikely to move in January, but with Arsenal struggling in recent weeks, who knows what might happen!

Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich

Palhinha was close to joining the Bavarians back in August before the deal was nixed at the last minute. Thomas Tuchel reportedly is still interested in bringing the Fulham man in and could even make a move in January.
