The violent death of rapper Pat Stay at 36
Shock and rage in the music industry. Canadian rapper Pat Stay has died at the age of 36 after being stabbed.
TMZ reported on the rapper's death while his brother confirmed it to CBC News.
Patrick Wayne Stay, the real name of the musician, got involved in a brawl in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which cost him his life.
At the moment, the police do not know how the fight started or who was involved.
After being stabbed, Pat Stay was immediately taken to the hospital. Shortly after arriving, though, he was declared dead.
Halifax police know so little about the incident that their spokesman John MacLeod has asked citizens to contact them with any information they have on the matter.
At the moment, there are no detainees in relation to the murder. The investigation has just begun.
A native of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Pat Stay had gained great prominence in the rap industry, thanks to his success in rap battles.
The famous Canadian rapper Drake, a friend of Pat Stay, had described him as "one of the best" rappers of the moment.
Fate has been cruel to Pat Stay. He had recently released his latest work: 'The Game DISS.'
Strangely, as if the rapper knew what was going to happen, he left a foreboding message on Instagram three days before his death.
"Imagine if we treated all of our friends and loved ones like we knew their days were numbered," he wrote on Instagram.
But even harder was Pat Stay's publication prior to this prescient phrase.
On Wednesday, August 31, the rapper shared a photo with his son on his fifth birthday. Along with the photo, in which the rapper is seen hugging his son, he dedicated a moving and precious message.
"Today is the fifth birthday of my best friend. My hero in real life, Calvin Royce Star. I assure you that I cannot find the words to describe how much I love you," he said.
"I love you, I admire you. You are everything I could have dreamed of in a son multiplied by 1,000. I often think how lucky I am because of how special you are and I shed tears of happiness because of the bond we have," he added.
Sadly, Calvin Royce Star's fifth birthday will be the last he and his dad celebrate together.
