The sudden death of rapper Big Scarr at age 22
Shock, disbelief, and many questions in the music industry. Rapper Big Scarr has died unexpectedly at the young age of 22.
'The Shade Room' reported his death on December 22 with a post on Instagram.

"We are sad to report that 22-year-old rapper #BigScarr has passed away," the post read. "The Memphis native, born Alexander Woods, was signed to #GucciMane’s 1017 Records. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
On December 23, Gucci Mane confirmed the news with another post on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the young rapper.

Neither the Shaderoom nor Gucci Mane has revealed Big Scarr's cause of death.
The list of rappers who have died in recent months increased alarmingly.

Curiously, Big Scarr already escaped death at the age of 16, when a car accident nearly cost him his life. He survived and actually refers to the event by his stage name: big scar.

Big Scarr was one of hip-hop's rising stars. He was influenced by rappers like Kodak Black and Boosie Badazz.

He went from rapping among his friends to releasing his debut single, 'Make a Play.' It had quite an impact at the end of 2019 when it generated millions of listeners in streaming.

Hand in hand with his cousin, the singer Pooh Shiesty, Big Scarr would sign a contract with '1017 Record', the Gucci Mane label, in June 2020.
That same summer, Big Scarr appeared on the company's compilation 'So Icy Summer.' He also released two songs by the end of 2020: 'Endzone' and 'Frozone.'

In April 2021, Big Scarr released his debut Mixtape: 'Big Grim Reaper.' A foreboding title...
The reception of his first release surprised friends and strangers. It reached number 25 on the Billboard 200 List.

In early 2022, Big Scarr released an extended version of his successful first album with 13 more tracks. They included collaborations with Offset, Foogiano, and Pooh Shiesty.
According to his Instagram posts, Big Scarr was preparing to tour with his partner Key Glock: the 'Glockoma Tour 2023.'

Big Scarr was clearly heading for big things, and he was only 22 years old. After his sudden death, about which little is known, the promising career of the young talent is now tragically cut short.
