The cause of Jansen Panettiere's sudden death at age 28

A week after actor Jansen Panettiere died suddenly at age 28, his family released a statement to ABC News about the cause of his death.

According to the family, the coroner had stated that Jansen's death was due to cardiomegaly (enlargement of the heart), along with aortic valve complications.

"We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support towards our family as we navigate this unthinkable loss, and ask that we be gifted our privacy during this time of mourning," the family stated asking for a little privacy in these harsh moments.

Jansen Panettiere, the only brother of the well-known actress Hayden Panettiere ('Heroes'), passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 28.

Kasey Kitchen, the representative of Hayden Panettiere, reported the harsh news of the actress's brother's sudden death.

At the time of his death, authorities had already ruled out any connection between his demise and a crime.

Jansen Panettiere was the only brother of the famous actress. They were very close and had both started acting when they were children.

Hayden Panettiere's career was more successful than her brother's, especially after her stint on the popular series 'Heroes.'

Despite the fact that Jansen Panettiere never stopped working for 20 years, his roles were always minor or episodic projects in television series.

The young actor did make quite a name for himself in the dubbing sector, where he participated in films such as 'Ice Age 2' and the 'Holly Hobbie & Friends' saga.

His most prominent appearance on television occurred in 'The Walking Dead', where he gave life to Casper. It was a guest role for just one episode. He also appeared in an episode of 'Major Crimes' in 2013.

In parallel to these jobs as an actor, Jansen Panettiere got a degree in Economics from Drury University in 2016.

However, his true passion, as can be seen on his Instagram account, was art.

"I started painting my problems which became my solution," the bio of a parallel Instagram account states. It's an account in which he exclusively showed his art.

His sister Hayden has not yet spoken on social media nor before the media.

The actress's last post, prior to the death of her Jansen Panettiere, was a promo for 'Scream VI' which read: "In a city of millions, no one hears you scream." It is imaginable that this is how the actress feels now, after losing her brother.

Someone who did write a public goodbye was Jansen Panettiere's partner Catherine Michie. She was the subject of one of the last posts the artist shared on social media, along with a painting dedicated to her.

Catherine writes a message that refers to the artist's mental problems:
"Words cannot express the pain of knowing I won’t hear your laugh again. I hope you find peace, and I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me most."
