The return of Armie Hammer after his cannibalism scandal
It was at the end of 2020 when Armie Hammer, one of Hollywood's pretty boys and eternal star hopeful, shocked the world after being accused of cannibalism by one of his ex-partners.
To this shocking accusation were added several lawsuits for harassment that, in the end, came to nothing but, between one thing and another, Armie Hammer ended up in absolute ostracism.
Not only did he abandon his work as an actor, but he divorced his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, with whom he has two children (Harper Grace and Ford Douglas Armand). He also disappeared from public life, fleeing to the Cayman Islands.
Armie Hammer's family has owned millions for several generations, so he doesn't really need to work to survive. This means he's quite comfortable in his transition from stardom to ostracism.
Until February 2023, the world completely forgot about Armie Hammer, until he gave an interview to 'Air Mail', where he apologized in his own way, acknowledged mistakes, and called himself selfish.
Recently, the former actor gave a second interview to the 'Painful Lessons' podcast, in which his tone seems far from repentant. "People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them. How am I going to be a cannibal? It was bizarre, right?" he says.
It is curious that in the messages shown by one of the women with whom he had had relations, Armie Hammer himself claimed to be "100% cannibal" while telling the woman: "I want to eat you."
For this reason, it is shocking that in his recent interview, he says that people "There were things that people were saying about me that just felt so outlandish … that I was a cannibal", although more curious is that he defines the situation as "hilarious."
The former actor confirms having overcome the stage of resentment. He even claims to be "really grateful for every single bit of it, because, where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me, I didn't feel good."
What's more, he admits having considered taking his own life. "I was standing at the shore and I swam out really far and just... But I thought I couldn't do that to my kids," he adds.
After "hitting rock bottom" and reaching "the death of my ego and my acting career," Armie Hammer is looking to return to Hollywood with a script he is writing. It remains to be seen if the Mecca of Cinema opens the back door for him to return or if it leaves him in oblivion where dozens of artists already are.
