The 2023 BAFTAs: royalty and celebrities gather on the red carpet
As every year, the 2023 British film awards (BAFTAs) featured a stunning look by Princess Catherine of Wales. Her bridal-inspired design, an asymmetrical Alexander McQueen, was accompanied by contracting black gloves and a bag. She also wore Zara earrings that sparked comments on social media. Mostly comments of praise, of course.
The BAFTA red carpet raised the bar so high that the coming galas will struggle to beat it. The world was treated to an array of elegance, color, glamour, and surprises at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
We begin with a strange choice: the actress repeated the Maison Margiela she wore at the Oscars 2015, but this time accompanied by Louis Vuitton jewelry. She looked lovely, and she smelled of 'Oscar', but we feel Cate could go that little bit more.
She is a red carpet expert: on this occasion, the actress (nominated for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in 'Blonde') opted for a beautiful pink Louis Vuitton design that contrasted with the intense red lipstick.
Always risky and different, the actress wore a Schiaparelli design from its spring-summer 2023 collection, accompanied by Aquazzura sandals. The spectacular cape certainly took the attention of the evening.
The actress absolutely stuns in this dress designed by Harris Reed. Always a head-turned on the red carpet, Florence Pugh crowned the gown with jewels by Tiffany & Co.
With darkened hair, a feline look and a transparent design: Sophie Turner, accompanied with her Luis Vuitton jewellery, went straight to the top of the most sophisticated of the evening.
Her bet on this original Giles Deacon with voluminous tiers was a complete success.
The model and actress opted for a total black look signed by Maison Alaïa. You had to look several times to work out its cut and design. We love it.
She never disappoints, especially at the BAFTAs. Her flashy Louis Vuitton sparkled almost as much as she did.
One of the most successful combinations of the evening was the couture design by Azzi & Osta with neon pink sandals worn by writer and producer Charlotte Carroll.
The model wore an elegant and sober black dress by Zuhair Murad.
We thought the actress looked beautiful in the Armani Privé SS23 Couture that she wore. The jewels are by Bvlgari.
Unique, completely white, with a draping tail, the beautiful design by Tamara Ralph worked for Lily James.
The actress chose a designer to ensure she stood out on this year's red carpet: Valentino.
The Oscar-winning actor has been, is and always will be a benchmark of men's fashion, thanks to outfits like this eighties Alexander McQueen suit, with bell-bottom pants, jacket with lapels and no shirt. Spectacular.
The veteran actress is really enjoying this year's awards season. She continues to amaze at each event, as on this occasion with her outfit signed by Saint Laurent, of course, in black and white.
One of the most daring and successful designs of the night, signed by Fendi.
Again, black and white for the actress and, once again, absolute success. It works and she looks great in this original design by Cong Tri.
The Louis Vuitton strapless dress worn by the actress was an absolute delight to behold.
An oversize suit jacket and over the shoulders coat set the absolute trend on the red carpet. Wonderful, fresh look from Emma Thompson.
The British singer surprised with an ethereal design (which came with some impossible sleeves!), accompanied by the essential Serpenti by Bvlgari.
One of the big surprises of the night (award for Best Supporting Actress), she went up to collect her award in a spectacular Armani Privé FW19 Couture.
Black and white were the 2023 BAFTA colors and Julianne Moore joined the movement to perfection, wearing a Saint Laurent design that she topped off with Bvlgari jewelry.
The actress chose black to show off her pregnancy in a long-sleeved design with a balcony neckline.
The actress, who was head-to-head with Cate Blanchett yet again at the awards, on this occasion wore a sober and overwhelming Christian Dior FW18 Couture ensemble, combined with Moussaieff jewelry.
Purple was also very prominent at the BAFTAs - but not everyone can wear it quite like Viola Davis can in this Stella McCartney cape design.
The singer continues to get it right in her public appearances and, at the BAFTAs, she opted for a sweet princess dress with a romantic design in white.
The actress's outfit combines fringing, lace, rhinestones and a little bit of everything for an absolutely wonderful result. We love this original Gucci design.
The Pamella Roland design is a delight but it's the addition of the bag that really makes Angela Bassett's look stand out.
Her choice of an asymmetrical mermaid cut was a wonder. Absolutely one of the best of the red carpet.
Hope's purple lingerie dress designed by Kyha Studios, paired with Bvlgari jewellery is certainly worthy of a mention.
The Saint Laurent FW22 RTW fit the singer like a glove. An absolute hit.
Another Fendi design that left the audience open-mouthed.
