Very funny and sometimes eerily similar to real-life Washington politics, this HBO series has seven seasons of unending laughter and political games. Each season is seven to ten episodes long.

The Boys

Do you like superheroes? Then maybe this Amazon Prime series is for you. It has three seasons with 24 episodes so far. And a fourth season coming in 2024.

I'm Not Okay With This

Based on the comic book by Charles Forsman, this Netflix coming-of-age comedy-drama so far has one season of seven episodes.

Big Little Lies

Strongly recommended, with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, this HBO series has two seasons of seven episodes each.

Killing Eve

With four seasons of eight episodes each, this HBO drama features 'Grey's Anatomy' star Sandra Oh and the marvelous Jodie Comer as the good/bad girl.

Money Heist

Originally called 'Casa de Papel', this show is on Netflix and has five seasons (or 'parts') of six to nine episodes each.

S.e.x. Education

This coming-of-age series featuring a fabulous Gillian Anderson is available on Netflix. It has four seasons of eight episodes.

The Crown

This series famously recounts the life of Queen Elizabeth. Its six seasons go as far as the failed marriage of her son, Crown Prince Charles, with Princess Diana and her death in 1997.

Hunters

On Amazon Prime, this drama series about a group of Nazi hunters in the US has two seasons totaling 18 episodes.

Vikings

Probably known by many, this Netflix series based on the historic Viking conquests is definitely worth a try for those who haven't seen it. It has six seasons of between nine and twenty episodes each.

American Gods

This fantasy drama is on Amazon Prime and has three seasons of eight episodes each.

Schitt's Creek

Schitt's Creek is a very popular Canadian comedy that ran for six seasons until April 2020. Each season has between ten and fourteen episodes. It is now available on Netflix around the world.

Fleabag

A tragic comedy from British soil, this series is on Amazon Prime and has two seasons of six chapters each.

Riverdale

This series has seven seasons of 13 to 22 episodes each, which you can watch on Netflix.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

This series is about a housewife in the 1950s who decides to start a comedy career. It received both an Emmy and a Golden Globe in 2018. It's on Amazon Prime and has five seasons of eight to ten chapters each.

Outlander

This series has eight seasons of between thirteen and sixteen episodes each. Depending on your location, there may only be a part of these seasons available on Netflix.

The Wire

And then there's a bunch of 'oldies' that you can revisit or discover. How about 'The Wire' (photo) or 'Luther' on HBO and Hulu Plus, respectively? Both series feature the stunning Idris Elba. In the first, he's the criminal, in the second, he's the cop.

Seinfeld

Netflix offers all 180 episodes of 'Seinfeld.' Some of the jokes have gotten old, but most are still funny.

The Office

And then there's the full series of 'The Office' on Netflix, returning to Scranton, Pennsylvania (the city where President-elect Joe Biden was born). A group of colleagues tries to deal with the boredom of administrative work. Their boss, played by Steve Carell, tries hopelessly to be popular and crack jokes all day long.

Buffy, the Vampire Slayer

There are 144 episodes of 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer' on Amazon Prime right now, for those who like the intrigues of an ensemble cast plus the horrors of vampire and demon hunting.

The X-Files

If you haven't met agents Mulder and Scully yet, Amazon Prime offers you the full account of their hunt for aliens and UFOs. The show is very 90s and can be a bit slow, but it will keep you engaged till the end.
