Julia Stiles played Kat Stratford, the female lead in the famous 90s movie. She was an anti-social, non-conformist teen who loved to listen to Riot Girl. Viewers were delighted when Kat finally loosened up enough to let love in.

After '10 Things I Hate About You,' Stiles starred in 'Hamlet' and 'Save the Last Dance' (image), among others. Her career has been booming and she continues to land roles in successful films.

From 'Mona Lisa Smile' with Julia Roberts to the 'Bourne' franchise with Matt Damon, Julia Stiles has played in several successful movies. Among her recent productions are 'The God Committee' (2021) in which she stars alongside Kelsey Grammar, and the Canadian Amazon Prime series 'The Lake' (2022).

In 2005 she graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English literature. In 2017, Julia married Preston J. Cook, with whom she shares a child, Strummer Newcomb Cook.

Heath Ledger played the mysterious and charming young man hired to date Kat. Ultimately, he fell for her, even though it was just paid work.

When Heath's character serenaded the soccer team in a scene that made many teens' hearts skip a beat, the actor sky-rocketed into instant teen-heart-throb status.

Heath Ledger went on to receive major critical acclaim for his works as an actor. He starred in films such as 'Brokeback Mountain' (image), for which he earned an Oscar for Best Actor. In 'The Dark Knight,' Ledger took on the role of Joker and impressed Batman fans with his interpretation of the character.

Sadly, before the release of 'The Dark Knight,' Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose in 2008. Ledger was honored with a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work playing the Joker.

Ledger left behind a daughter, Matilda, whom he shared with his ex, Michelle Williams.

Larisa Oleynik played Kat's popular, mainstream younger sister Bianca. Bianca's parents would not let her date anyone until her older sister had begun dating. As she wanted to go out with Joey (Andrew Keegan), she made it her mission to find someone for her big sister Kat to date.

Following '10 Things,' Oleynik landed roles in two films: '100 Girls', and 'A Time For Dancing,' both filmed in 2000. However, neither landed a theatrical release. Later, she found more success with a role in 'American Rapsody' (2001) alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Meanwhile, Larisa has kept busy with several guest-starring roles from 'Mad Men' to 'Pretty Little Liars.' She even landed a starring role on the Netflix series 'Trinkets,' which lasted for two seasons. More recently, she starred in the Netflix family comedy 'The Healing Powers of Dude.'

Andrew Keegan gave life to Joey Donner in the film. His character is an arrogant young man and a wanna-be model whose main priority in the film is to get into Bianca's pants. It's not an easy task, considering her parents won't let her go out with anyone. So, he hires Patrick and pays him cash to take Kat out on a date.

Andrew Keegan had already gotten some recognition for the series 'Party of Five' and '7th Heaven' when he starred in '10 Things'. In 2000, he landed a role in 'The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy,' a successful film that won Best Picture at the GLAAD Awards. In 2009, he played a man with HIV 'He Asked For It', in theaters. He was also in a couple more films in the mid-2000s 'Kill Speed' (2010) and 'Living Among Us' (2015).

In 2014, the actor founded Full Circle, a non-denominational group that some have called a cult. The organization closed up shop in 2017 due to financial troubles. If Keegan's Instagram account is any indication, these days, he is mostly taking care of his daughter Aiya Rose (born 2016).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was adorable playing the new kid Cameron James in 'Ten Things I Hate About You.' Cameron falls desperately in love with Bianca and even learns French in an attempt to woo her.

Joseph has done well with his career post-'Ten Things.' The indie smash hit '500 Days of Summer' earned him accolades, as did his appearance in 'The Dark Knight Rises' (image).

Gordon-Levitt starred in his own directorial debut film 'Don Jon' in 2013, and recently played Edward Snowden in 'Snowden.' Joseph also wrote the script, directed, and starred in the series 'Mr. Corman' on Apple TV.

The actor has been married since 2014 to Tasha McCauley (pictured), and the couple have two sons together.

Gabrielle Union played the role of Chastity (r), Bianca's superficial, social-climbing best friend.

Union has gone on to be a very successful actress. She appeared in a few films such as 'Bring It On' in which she starred alongside Kirsten Dunst, and 'Think Like A Man' before focusing more on television.

From 2013-2019 Union starred in 'Being Mary Jane', which led to her role as Sydney Burnett in 'L.A.'s Finest.'

Not only is she a successful actress, but she is also a best-selling author thanks to her book 'We're Going to Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated, and True.' Gabrielle is married to Dwyane Wade and the pair has a daughter together.

David Krumholtz embodied Michael Eckman in 'Ten Things I Hate About You.' Michael's character was a nerdy and neurotic kid, fulfilling the film's need for a stereotypical high school nerd.

After '10 Things', Krumholtz landed the role of head elf Bernard in the 'The Santa Clause' saga. He also appeared in a variety of television series throughout the early 2000s.

He starred in 'Numb3rs' from 2005 to 2010 and appeared in 'Mom' in 2015. More recently, he landed a role in 'The Deuce.' Krumholtz is the husband of Vanessa Britting and the father of two children.

Pratt played the role of Kat's best friend, a Shakespeare-obsessed teen who ended up dating Michael. In the wake of 'Ten Things,' Pratt landed starring roles in teen films such as 'Drive Me Crazy' and 'Centre Stage.'

After her film work, she landed smaller roles on TV series such as 'Master of Sex,' 'Charmed,' 'Private Practice,' and 'Outcast.' The actress is married to Kenneth Mitchell, and they have two children together.

Mitchell played the role of the frustrated English teacher Mr. Morgan. Trying to get along with students like Kat, Joey, and Patrick was not an easy job for poor Mr. Morgan.

After the film, Mitchell continued with his role as Leo Michael in 'Veronica's Closet' until he suffered a terrible tragedy in 2000.

The actor was in a horrible motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite this significant setback, he has continued to pursue acting and has starred as Patton Plane on 'NCIS: New Orleans' and 'Fear of the Walking Dead' among other roles. Mitchell is also a husband and father to three children.

Unlike his younger co-actors, comedian Larry Miller was already well-established in the industry. He was a recurring supporting actor in the sitcom 'Mad About You,' for example. Here we see him with Jay Leno in 1995.

Miller played the role of an over-the-top protective dad, paranoid that his teen daughters would become pregnant to perfection. He even made Bianca wear a false pregnant belly!

Miller has continued to shine on the big and small screen. Among his best-known roles was as Princess Mia's audacious stylist in 'The Princess Diaries' films.

He returned to his role as Mr. Stratford for an unsuccessful television reboot of '10 Things'. In addition, Miller played Principal Perkales on 'High School Cupid, a Cupid Inc. Story.' The actor is still married to his wife, Eileen Conn, and has two children.

Like Larry Miller, Allison Janney was already a well-established actress when she took on the role of high school guidance counselor Ms. Perky in '10 Things.' It was a remarkable role though. The quirky counselor was more interested in working on her sensual novel than helping out her students.

Janney is a seven-time Emmy Award-winning actress best known for her role as C.J. Cregg on 'The West Wing' as well as Bonnie on 'Mom.'

The actress got an Academy Award for playing Tonya Harding's mother in 'I, Tonya' and in 2019 starred in the highly praised film 'Bombshell.' Recent projects included the movie 'Lou' (2022) and the series 'Palm Royale' (2024).
