Kanye just doesn't know when to quit, does he?
If Kanye West’s most recent interview with far-right troll Gavin McGuiness has taught us anything, it’s that the troubled rapper just can’t stop himself from making absolutely terrible decisions.
Less than a week after proclaiming that he loved Hitler, Kanye told McGuiness that the “rules of the country will be based on the bible" and asked “Jewish People” to “forgive Hitler.”
It's only been a month since Kanye destroyed his brand Jeezy with outrageous remarks and a week since shocked the world with his comments praising Hitler.
If you didn't already know, Kanye reached a new low when he expressed his admiration for Adolf Hitler during an appearance on Alex Jones’ conspiracy-theory program Infowars alongside notorious white supremacist Nick Fuentes.
"Well, I see good things about Hitler," West said, to a surprisingly horrified Jones and a smiling Nick Fuentes.
"Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler," the rapper continued.
But Kanye didn’t stop there. In the nearly three-hour interview, Kayne gushed about his admiration for the German dictator, even outright stating: "I like Hitler."
This rhetoric was far too much for Jones, who tried to help Kayne walk back his obviously career-ending statements.
"I don’t think Hitler was a good guy," Jones began. "I get the Hugo Boss uniforms, amazing. But just because you’re in love with the design — you’re a designer — can we just kinda say you like the uniforms, but that’s about it?"
But Kanye didn’t take the bait, replying, "No, there’s a lot of things I love about Hitler. A lot," including the rapper's apparent admiration of Hitler’s creation of the modern microphone and highway system, both of which are laughably untrue.
At one point, Kanye had the audacity to say, “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” which prompted a laugh from Jones, who then said, “Oh man, well, I have to disagree on that.”
The whole bizarre incident was the culmination of a long flirtation with antisemitism that has had Kayne walking a thin tightrope between controversy and hate since he supported Donald Trump’s presidency all the way back in 2016.
Kanye’s Infowars appearance was a real unmasking moment for the artist. But if you’ve paid attention over the years then you probably already knew that Kayne was an arguably "bad dude."
Remember when Kanye shamed his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose on live radio? Or how about the time he insisted that Black Americans were a people who had chosen to be enslaved?
The point is that Kanye has a very disturbing history of being a total jerk, and if leaks from his friends and acquaintances are to be believed, he has apparently also had a long history of adoring Hitler.
Several people who were once close to Kanye broke their silence about the artist's fascination with Hitler in October after Kanye’s spouted his first volley of vitriolic hate against Jewish people on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News Show.
A former business executive who worked for Kanye told CNN’s Chloe Melas that the artist “would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people.”
Kanye’s Tucker Carlson hate speech certainly cost him. Adidas and twenty other companies divested from the “Kanye West” celebrity brand in October and his latest actions surely won’t bring any of that money, or fame, back.
On December 2nd Kanye the whole situation worse when Tweeted a picture of a swastika intermixed with a Star of David, earning him a ban from the platform's new owner Elon Musk and ending any chance at redemption in the public eyes.
Since being banned from Twitter, Kanye has released a new single entitled “Someday We’ll All Be Free” on his Instagram, rapping about everything from the rule of the Bible to proclaiming everyone in the world a Karen... will somebody please help this man?
