In a California hotel

For a while, this information was kept from the public. However, in early May it was finally revealed that an aesthetic procedure, carried out in a California hotel by a person without a medical license, had cost the woman her life.

Gorkani also became a star of a famous adult content platform.

A clandestine treatment

On the fateful day of her death, Christina underwent a clandestine treatment to inject silicone into her buttocks.

The reason for her surgeries

As Ashten herself declared to 'The Sun' some time ago, the reason for her multiple aesthetic interventions was to achieve a unique image. She wanted to benefit from her fame as Kim Kardashian's doppelganger but also become an icon in her own right.

'To look different from Kim'

"I took this as an opportunity to pursue my own look, which was bigger b o o bs and a bigger b u t t, going beyond what Kim has done," she told The Sun. "So, the money I spend on maintaining my looks or achieving my look is not to look like Kim but to look different."

Tens of thousands of dollars spent

The model reportedly invested more than 25 thousand dollars in aesthetic touch-ups, so that she could obtain a striking body that would please her audience.

Silicone into her buttocks

The procedure that would end her life was one in the buttocks. The silicone injections had a bad effect on her body, though, and serious complications arose.

Cardiac arrest

Since the procedure was done in a hotel, emergency medical help was not nearby. Ashten suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away.

No medical license

The Daily Post reports that the procedure was carried out fraudulently. The person injecting the material did not have the required medical license to perform this type of aesthetic procedure.

The person responsible was arrested

According to statements made by Steve Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County District Attorney in San Francisco, the person responsible for the injections was arrested and will be prosecuted for the model's death.

Prosecuted

The Daily Mail notes that a woman called Vivian Gómez went to a hotel in California on April 19 with the intention of giving the Kim Kardashian doppelganger various silicone injections.

Accused of two crimes

Gómez has been accused of two crimes: one for manslaughter and another for practicing medicine without a license.

Caught at a Florida airport

According to information shared by the Daily Mail, Gómez was far from the crime scene when police caught her. She was arrested on April 20 at a Florida airport and then transferred to Redwood in San Francisco.

Family raises funds for the funeral

Despite her fame, Christina Ashten Gourkani did not have enough savings to help pay for her funeral. Therefore, her family asked fans for help through a GoFundMe campaign.

'Loss and disbelief'

"We ask in this time of mourning our loss & disbelief that people can come together to help our family make it through this, when there is not enough strength," they stated on GoFundMe.
