In June 2024, Disney Studios revealed plans for the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in their roles. The release of the film is planned for 2025.

According to Elle magazine, ‘Tess’ and ‘Anna’ will be swapping bodies, but this time it will not be with each other. Without giving away too many spoilers, the mother and daughter will switch bodies with two teenage girls.

In April 2024, ‘Screen Rant’ ranked all the films falling into this genre. The 1976 version of ‘Freaky Friday’ was ranked at number 11 while the 2003 remake came in at number 9.
The cult classic status of the beloved 2003 film, the all-star cast, and the much-anticipated return of Lindsay Lohan are sure to generate interest in the 2025 sequel.
