The actor, known for many roles including that of the guard Desi Piscatella in 'Orange is the New Black,' passed away from undisclosed causes at the age of 56.

He played Chuck Norris' partner Trivette in 'Walker, Texas Ranger,' among many other roles. Clarence Gilyard Jr. passed away at the age of 66 after a long illness. He worked as a professor in acting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
