Bruce Willis' health is getting worse
In March 2022, Bruce Willis' family announced that the actor was retiring from work and public life due to aphasia that would soon become frontotemporal dementia.
While the months have passed, information about the actor has been arriving in small doses, both from his wife, Emma Heming, and from his daughters and his ex Demi Moore.
Glenn Gordon Caron, a close friend of Bruce Willis and producer of 'Moonlighting,' the series in which he starred with Cybill Shepherd from 1985 to 1989, recently offered some concrete and harsh details of the actor's current state.
Talking to 'The New York Post,' Glenn Gordon Caron declared that Bruce Willis' communication and cognitive skills are at a minimum.
In fact, the producer revealed that his friend can no longer communicate verbally, and he has also lost the ability to read. "He used to be a voracious reader — he didn’t want anyone to know that — and he’s not reading now," the producer said.
When it comes to recognizing people close to him, Glenn Gordon Caron estimates that, in his case, "the first one to three minutes he knows who I am..."
He continued: "When you’re with him you know that he’s Bruce and you’re grateful that he’s there... but the 'joie de vivre' is gone."
That statement is the one that has worried fans the most. If Bruce Willis has always been characterized by something, it is his joy and love of life, as Glenn Gordon Caron recalls in 'The New York Post'.
"He's an extraordinary person. The thing that makes [his disease] so mind-blowing is [that] if you've ever spent time with Bruce Willis, there is no one who had any more joie de vivre than he. He loved life and... just adored waking up every morning and trying to live life to its fullest."

Glenn Gordon Caron acknowledges that he was able to speak with Bruce Willis before the illness left him almost unable to communicate. He did so to give his friend the scoop: 'Moonlighting' was going to be streamed on Hulu.
"I know he’s really happy that the show is going to be available for people, even though he can’t tell me that," Glenn Gordon Caron said. "The process [to get 'Moonlighting' onto Hulu] has taken quite a while and Bruce's disease is a progressive disease."
Glenn Gordon Caron's harsh revelations coincide with those made by Emma Heming in an interview with 'Today.'
Bruce Willis' wife revealed that the situation is very complicated. "It's hard on the person diagnosed," she said with tears in her eyes, but "it's also hard on the family."
The legendary actor's illness has no cure and, given the latest updates about his abilities, the degenerative process is faster than expected.
For this reason, Emma Heming feels especially bad for the two daughters she shares with the actor: Mabel (2012) and Evelyn (2014). They know about their father's delicate situation and try to get the best out of life with him as possible.
"It's hard to know, painful, but... just being in the know of what is happening to Bruce makes it a little easier," Heming said. She added that is a lesson of "love, patience and resilience" for their kids.
Emma Heming also has the support and daily help of Demi Moore, the ex-wife of Bruce Willis, as well as the adult daughters they have together. All are dedicated to making life as pleasant as possible for a Bruce Willis while his star is fading little by little.
