Britney Spears and Sam Asghari: why they ended things
The internet has been very busy discussing the split of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari. According to Entertainment Tonight, insiders claim to know the motives behind the couple's decision to call it quits.
Although he had been a staunch advocate for Britney Spears' emancipation from her conservatorship in the past, recent revelations indicate that Sam Asghari had issues with Britney's newfound freedom once she was liberated from her father's rules.

Entertainment Tonight reported that a source told the news outlet that "Britney could be argumentative at times, but also felt like Sam didn't let her do a lot of things without him."
The anonymous source added, "Before Britney's conservatorship ended, Sam was very supportive. Once it ended, Britney felt very free, but that eventually changed based on certain dynamics in her relationship with Sam."
One can't help but wonder if perhaps Sam didn't like that Britney wasn't so tightly controlled anymore and the anonymous sources that spoke to ET seem to support this theory.
Entertainment Tonight quoted a second source that said, "Britney felt like things shifted in her relationship with Sam once her conservatorship ended. Before it ended, Britney was more in a set routine, but once she was free, a lot changed."
The second source continued, "Britney wanted to embrace her freedom and felt like Sam couldn't necessarily handle that. Britney will never let another person control her, and she felt like that was starting to happen again."

After just 14 short months of marriage, Britney Spears is single again. Several media outlets shared the news that the couple had split up on August 16, with PEOPLE magazine confirming that Sam Asghari had filed the paperwork to legally end his marriage from Spears on August 16.
On August 19, Britney shared a statement on her Instagram account regarding the couple's decision to end things writing, "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but … I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody's business !!! But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!!"

Spears accompanied her message with a video of herself removing her make-up and dancing and made sure her fans weren't worried about her writing, "I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I'm actually doing pretty good !!! Anyways have a good day and don't forget to smile !!!"
On August 17, in a statement shared on Instagram, the Asghari wrote, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
According to TMZ, when Sam filed the papers to end the marriage, in his request he pointed out that the couple have been living apart since July 28, 2023 and that the reasons are due to "irreconcilable differences."
TMZ reported that these "irreconcilable differences" may be related to infidelity. Insiders close to the couple told the media outlet that Asghari decided to end things with the pop star "after getting into a "nuclear" argument about her allegedly cheating on him," however, this has yet to be confirmed.
According to TMZ, insiders confirm that Asghari has his own home and is no longer living with Spears. Now that the end of the couple's relationship has been confirmed, many wonder if Sam will go after Britney's fortune.
TMZ reported that Sam Asghari is requesting spousal support and payment of his attorneys' fees from Spears and that despite having a prenuptial agreement, documents indicate that Asghari plans to contest the agreement.
The prenup that the couple signed prior to the marriage, means the model of Iranian origin would not have the right to claim anything from the Britney's fortune, valued at just over 60 million dollars according to Hello! magazine.
Sam would also not have the right to the profits generated by the musical repertoire of Britney Spears, nor to the house they shared in which, according to the Hello!, Asghari's name does not appear as part of the deed.
However, the fortune that Britney Spears has managed to amass since the couple's wedding day is in question. In addition, according to US Magazine, in the prenuptial agreement, the couple signed, it was established that Asghari would receive 1 million dollars for every two years of marriage, capped at $10 million after 15 years.
This is Britney Spears' third failed marriage. The first was when she eloped in 2004 with her friend Jason Alexander, whom she would divorce 55 hours later. And months later, in 2004, Britney married Kevin Federline, the father of her two children and from whom she separated in 2007.
Sam Asghari had become a fundamental pillar of support for Britney Spears. The personal trainer would supported her during her mental health crisis in 2019 and in the tough legal battle to obtain freedom from her father's guardianship.
The couple went through many tough times together, which seemed to make their relationship stronger. In fact, in April 2022, they announced they were expecting their first child together. However, just a few weeks later the couple announced the loss of their baby.

The couple got married on June 9, 2022, at their home in Thousand Oaks and in a ceremony that was interrupted by the appearance of Jason Alexander, the Britney's first husband.

TMZ reported at the time that Alexander interrupted the ceremony shouting, "She’s my first wife, my only wife. I’m her first husband, I’m here to crash the wedding."
Perhaps the fact that Spears and Asghari's wedding started out on such a dramatic note was a sign that it would never last. Regardless, we are confident that Britney will come out on top of all of this, she has undoubtedly been through much worse!
