Blue Ivy, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z: see how she changed over time

Over the years we've seen stars' babies grow up, and the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z is no exception. Take a look at how the celebrity kid (and Grammy winner!) has changed into the spitting image of her mother.

Blue Ivy Carter was born on January 7, 2012, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

The origin of her name is unclear. In 2012, Beyoncé posted a text on her Tumblr blog in which she referred to the novel 'A Field Guide to Getting Lost' (2005) by author Rebecca Solnit. It vaguely suggested that the inspiration for the name 'Blue Ivy' came from there.

In her first two years, we hardly saw Blue Ivy. Her parents were very careful and protected her from the public and paparazzi.

During the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Blue Ivy took the stage with her father to congratulate her mother on her accomplishments.

Blue Ivy has two twin siblings, Rumi and Sir. They were born on June 13, 2017.

Thanks to her famous parents she is very familiar with fame and life in Hollywood. In this photo at the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards, she was only four years old.

In 2020, at the age of 8, she became the youngest person to win a BET Award for her collaboration with Beyoncé on 'Brown Skin Girl.' In 2021 she also became the youngest artist to win an MTV Video Music Award for the same clip, and - last but not least - she got a Grammy Award together with her mother for 'Brown Skin Girl.'

Time definitely flies. Fans are feeling old when they see the changes in both father and daughter.

While there is no doubt that Blue Ivy could become the new Queen B, for now, she seems to be most interested in things of a 10-year-old: snacks, basketball, and making sure dad doesn't embarrass her in public.
