Amanda Holden's Got Talent: the best photos of the British star's life
Amanda Holden is back to encourage Britain's most talented artists along with her fellow judges. Meanwhile, we want to honor her with a photo gallery of her best looks.
This is Amanda 25 years ago. Born on February 16, 1971, she appeared for the first time on TV as a contestant in 'Blind Date' in 1991. After that, she had a few small roles in series like 'In Suspicious Circumstances', 'Eastenders', and 'Jonathan Creek'.
Her passion was theatre, though, and that's where she met comedian Les Dennis. They married in 1995, when she was 24 and he was 40. In hindsight, both have admitted to the media that the age difference may have been a bit large. They divorced in 2003.
Over the course of the 1990s, Amanda Holden's face became better known among the British TV audience. For one, she starred in the BBC comedy 'Kiss Me Kate.'
She also consolidated her spot in TV land with the ITV drama series 'The Grimleys'. As such, the late 90s and early 2000s were of the essence to Amanda Holden.
After those first successes, she would move on to a successful role in musical theatre with 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' (image). She was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2004.
Holden also made a regular appearance in the ITV series 'Wild at Heart' from 2006 to 2008.
On a personal level, she met music producer Chris Hughes and married him in 2008, after their first daughter Lexi had been born.
After baby girl Lexi, in 2006, Amanda Holden had a son, Theo, who was stillborn in 2011. A year later, in 2012, the couple had their second daughter, Hollie. In the image, we see Amanda and Lexi in 2006.
Amanda's youngest daughter Hollie Rose is a beautiful teen now. She looks a lot like the younger Amanda. Here we see her at the 2023 'Barbie' premiere with her mum.
Meanwhile, her eldest daughter Alexa 'Lexi' Louise Florence goes to red carpets with her mum regularly.
By 2010, Amanda Holden was a bona fide British superstar. She participated in Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief Haiti London 2010 Fashion Show.
It would not be the last charity event Amanda Holden participated in... by far! Here we see her with the late Paul O'Grady as they work to provide updated kennels to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2014.
Of course, Amanda Holden has been to the Royal Ascot. The high society equestrian event goes with a particular style of classic dresses, bright colors, and extravagant hats. Amanda's 2009 headpiece was more of a tiara but in any case, very well adapted to Ascot fashion standards.
In 2007, a new era had begun for Amanda Holden. The programme 'Britain's Got Talent' hired her as one of its regular judges. She has been on the show to this day.
For a long time, the 'BGT' team included talent scout Simon Cowell, next to Amanda in the middle of the photo, but also comedian David Walliams (left), presenters Ant & Dec (second left, first right), and the stunning singer and judge Alesha Dixon in black and white (second right).
Her 'Britain's Got Talent' buddy has always been Alesha Dixon. They usually wear outfits that match each other stunningly.
Besides being fashion sisters, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon also stood side by side to demand higher wages for their award-winning work in 'Britain's Got Talent.'
According to Entertainment Daily, they claimed in 2020 that their salaries were only half of what fellow judge David Walliams was making. With the alleged support of Simon Cowell, 'BGT' is now working to close that gender gap, the site reports.
In 2013, Amanda Holden published her autobiography, 'No Holding Back'. The book describes her road to fame, her marriage and divorce, and the tragedies in her life.
Meeting Camilla, then the Duchess of Cornwall, Amanda Holden wore a cute but modest pastel dress. She wouldn't want to steal the limelight from the Duchess! They met at the Old Windsor Battersea Dogs and Cats centre, a cause for which Amanda works hard. In between the future queen and Amanda Holden was her young daughter Alexa.
In 2019, Amanda Holden had what she herself called "a nasty accident while playing in the sea with the family during our half-term holiday." She broke her leg in two places and had a metal plate inserted, Hello Magazine reported. That didn't stop the British icon from looking spectacular, however. She soon appeared on the streets with a little scooter to get around elegantly.
In her 50th life year, Amanda Holden broke a new career boundary and released her first music album. 'Songs from the Heart' came out in 2020.
In 2022, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr worked on the reconstruction of a Sicily home for the BBC. The programme on their hard work, 'Amanda and Alan's Italian Job,' was broadcast in 2023.

Amanda has been on the 'Heart Breakfast' show on iHeart Radio since 2019. In 2023, she reported on the coronation of Charles III for the radio channel.
What more can we expect from this talented TV host, actress, and performer, seen here on the 'Stepping Out' stage? Well, for one, she's busy with 'Britain's Got Talent' 2024. And there's also going to be another home renovation, 'Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job.' So we will continue to enjoy Amanda Holden's work!
