The tragedy happened on Monday, September 21 on a street in Detroit. The boxer's trainer, Roshawn Jones, confirmed the sad news on his Twitter account.

"Isiah Jones (9-7-0) lost his life in a tragic event. Please keep his family in your prayers," the tweet read.

Isiah Jones broke through the amateur division of boxing after amassing a record of 52 wins and no more than two losses.

He won the National Golden Gloves in 2016 and made the leap to professional boxing a year later.

One of his great achievements was beating Donte Stubbs (photo) in 2020. Stubbs was among the nearly unsurpassed fighters before he met with Isiah Jones in the ring.
Jones's loss to Andrew Murphy, in July 2022, would be his last fight. He was busy preparing for another one when he died.
