During a rally in her home state of Georgia, Julia Roberts made a strong call for voters to participate in the 2024 election, according to Harper's Bazaar magazine. She favors the team of presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Waltz.

Her main argument? The actress emphasized the importance of voting to protect reproductive rights.

The Oscar winner showed her support for Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, during the rally in Cherokee County, Georgia, one of the state's conservative strongholds.

Stacey Abrams, one of the leaders of the Democratic Party in Georgia, joined Roberts on stage, reinforcing the message about the importance of reproductive freedom in this election.

Roberts expressed concern about what another term of Donald Trump would mean for women and families, especially in states like Georgia where a strict abortion law was recently reinstated.

In her speech, Roberts not only asked for women's support but also urged men to join the cause. She stressed the importance of talking to people with different opinions.

"I just hope that all the women here tonight talk to all the men that aren't here tonight. And all you brave men who are here tonight, talk to all the other men who aren't here tonight," she said according to Harper's Bazaar.

Roberts shared that her 19-year-old twin sons, Hazel and Phinnaeus, will be voting for the first time in this election. It fills her with pride. Most likely, the twins will vote for Kamala Harris.

The actress recalled that she was raised by activists. Her parents always taught her about constructive conversations. She encouraged attendees to talk to people with opposing political views.

According to political site The Hill, Julia Roberts headlined several campaign events in Georgia. For example, the actress attended one in Atlanta where she joined Senator Raphael Warnock and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff. The presidential elections take place on November 5, 2024.

Roberts, a Georgia native, said she believes in the state. She has faith in the possibility of achieving goals that go beyond the state, she said, as long as unity and citizen participation are fostered.

"Talk to the people who don't believe what you believe and gently lure them, gently, gently make them see what we see so clearly because some people just don't, and it doesn't make them bad or wrong, it just means they're not there yet, but we can get there," she said.
