Every day more and more people decide to go vegan. Among them, a considerable number of celebrities have decided to eliminate all foods of animal origin from their diet. Including GOT's Maisie Williams. She recently joined forces with high-end fashion brand Coperni to create vegan apple leather handbags.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt. Not only is he a talented actor but he's also won awards as an environmental activist. One of his practices is eating a vegan diet.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus' strong character has served her on many occasions. She uses her outspoken attitude, raising her voice and criticising practices committed against animals. However, in September 2020, during an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," Miley Cyrus shared she no longer follows a vegan diet because "her brain wasn't functioning properly" after seven years of that lifestyle.

Katy Perry

Perry turned vegan last year. Alongside her dog. This, of course, has attracted a lot of attention (good and bad) on social media, with many explaining that a dog needs meat in its diet and shouldn't be vegan. Her social media said last January, "I’m about 95% ready to be 100% VEGAN... my dog Nugget has been joining me on this journey for the past 4 monthz. Pray for us ok."

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is not simply vegan but also follows a strict macrobiotic diet. It focuses on nutrient-dense whole grains like brown rice, barley, millet, and oats, as well as fresh vegetables, sea vegetables, and miso, a fermented soy paste.

Drew Barrymore

The actress, who has gone from strength to strength after a difficult childhood, has become an activist for the environment, animals and, subsequently, veganism. But, she loves cooking for her boyfriend, Will Kopelman, who isn't vegan - so she’s back to eating meat.

Lizzo

In October 2020, Lizzo celebrated six months of veganism, sharing her delicious recipes to TikTok. One of them included her own vegan southern fried 'chicken'. Lizzo herself calls her vegan journey, "What I eat in a day: Tales from a fat vegan."

Billy Eilish

The ‘Bad Guy’ singer, Billie Eilish shared that she’s been vegan for "damn, seven years" She said: "And now, even though I have lots of friends that eat dairy and meat and I don't ever want to tell anybody what to do, I just can't go on in my life knowing what's going on in the animal world and like, not doing anything about it."

Sia

The singer started out as a vegetarian, but in 2014 she announced on Twitter that she was going vegan.

Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth started to eat vegan thanks to his then-partner Miley Cyrus. He has a lot of respect for animals. Despite his breakup with the singer, he had kept the same ideals, until he got a kidney stone and revealed he was no longer vegan, “[But] February last year I was feeling really low and lethargic and wasn’t feeling good generally. And then I got a kidney stone.” (plantbasednews.org)

In fact, Portman has been speaking up against the bad practices within the meat industry and their consequences for several years. So much so that Natalie Portman even provided the voice to produce the documentary 'Eating Animals'. However, Natalie Portman started eating dairy, eggs and milk when she was pregnant. She was still a vegetarian but she had to learn to “listen to her body”.

After glancing at the animals and then at their plates of meat, they both decided it was wrong.
