Liv grew up in the spotlight

Liv Tyler, with two famous parents, practically grew up in the spotlight. However, she really caught the public's attention when she made an appearance in Aerosmith's 1994 music video 'Crazy.'

Liv didn't know Steve Tyler was her dad

Liv Tyler is best known for being the daughter of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. However, Liv didn't even know he was her dad until she was 10 or 11 years old!

Liv though Todd Rundgen was her biological father

Liv's mother, Bebe Buell, had a brief relationship with Steve Tyler and fell pregnant with Liv. When she was born, Bebe was in a serious relationship with musician Todd Rundgen and claimed that Rundgren was Liv's biological dad.

Liv felt a strong connection to Steve

Liv grew thinking that Rundgren was her dad and never questioned it. In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Liv spoke about how she met Tyler after a concert one night and felt a strong connection to him. Steve Tyler also started showing up unexpectedly to the house more.

Liv confronted her mother

Liv also noticed she looked oddly similar to Steve's daughter Mia. In the end, Liv confronted her mother and learned the truth about the identity of her real father when she was around eleven years old.

Liv didn't want to be an actress

Liv never thought she would become an actress. In an interview with The Guardian in 2014, she spoke about how when she was younger, she didn't think she would ever take up acting when she was younger.

'Crazy' was Liv's "big break"

However, after her debut on screen in 'Crazy' alongside Alicia Silverstone, Liv found herself propelled into the acting world. First came 'Silent Fall' in 1994, and then 'Heavy' in 1995.

'Empire Records' earned a cult following

In 1996 the actress starred in 'Empire Records,' which developed a cult following, and it was a done deal. Liv Tyler was a highly sought-after actress.

Leading role in 'Armageddon'

Many other films followed 'Empire Records,'....remember 'Armageddon?' Which included a song by her dad Steve Tyler on the soundtrack?!

Everyone remembers Liv as Arwen

However, the role Liv Tyler will be most known for will most likely always be as Arwen Undómiel from the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy.

Liv kept her elf ears from 'Lord of the Rings'

Liv shared a funny story with Stephen Colbert of 'The Late Show' regarding her prized elf ears. The actress told Colbert that she decided to keep her elf ears from the movie set as a keepsake.

...but the ears melted!

However, things didn't go quite as planned. Tyler told the host of the show, "The ears melted because they were sort of like a prosthetic glycerine kind of thing. The ears are prosthetic and kind of make out of gelatine. I left one on the dashboard of the car, and it melted into the car."

Working both on TV and films

Liv has continued to work and has rocked some impressive roles since her 'Lord of the Rings' days. From films such as 'The Strangers' that'll make you bite your nails to the quick to fantastic television series like 'Gunpowder,' the acting world seems to be Liv's oyster.

Liv's a fan of transcendental meditation

Liv will produce the film adaptation of the book 'Lucca'

While family appears to be a huge priority in Tyler's life these days, her work is still very important to her. For her next project, she will be working as a producer. She has optioned the movie rights to the dramatic novel 'Lucca' by Jens Christian Grondahl.

"...a story about a woman's emancipation"

Liv will produce the film with her production company July Pictures.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Liv spoke about the book:
“I was touched by Lucca, her story remained in my imagination. I was especially struck with how she managed to turn tragedy into opportunity by transforming herself and adapting to her new reality. Through her friendship with Robert, she found a way of being free within her limitations. To me, it’s a story about a woman’s emancipation.”
