If you calculate the number of deaths per capita, considering the population figures of 2022, Peru has had the most deaths in relative terms. For every 159 Peruvians, 1 person has died from Covid-19.

Romania comes in second with a relative death toll of 1 in 290. Then we see the US and Brazil, which also lead the list in absolute numbers, with 1 person dying from the virus for every 319 citizens.
We haven't seen Canada in the list of highest death rates from Covid-19. How does it compare to the other countries?
Canadian population: 38.4 million
Deaths: 41,756
Infections: 3.98 million
This would mean that approximately 1 person for every 919 Canadians has died from Covid-19.
