Donald Trump is... The Mediator?

Former US President Donald Trump offered himself to lead negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Western nations, Business Insider reported back in late September.

Major escalation or war

Trump made the call through a series of posts on Truth Social in the aftermath of the apparent sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. “This could lead to major escalation or to war!” the former US President wrote.

The blame game

Germany, Sweden, and Denmark accused the Kremlin of causing a leak in the Nord Stream gas pipeline, which transports gas between Russia and Germany.

Kremlin denied responsibility

The Russian government denied any responsibility for the underwater leaks on the Baltic Sea.

One controversy after another

This is one of the many, many controversies involving the Moscow government and the West since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

If I were president...

“The Russia/Ukraine catastrophe should NEVER have happened, and would definitely not have happened if I were President. Do not make matters worse with the pipeline blowup,” the 45th President of the United States commented on Truth Social.

The Art of the Deal

“Get a negotiated deal done NOW. Both sides need and want it. The entire World is at stake.” President Trump punctuated, pondering if he would “head up the group”.

Trump, the statesman

The Epoch Times cites a September 27 interview Donald Trump gave to host John Catsimatidis (pictured with Henry Kissinger) on his podcast 'Cats at Night' where the former US President revealed his current international concerns.

'We could end up in World War III'

“We could end up in World War III and it could be all of the horrible things that took place in Ukraine,” Trump said to Catsimatidis.

Also known as 'nuclear power'

“I think we’re at the most dangerous time maybe in, in many, many years—maybe ever—because of the power of nuclear,” the New York mogul turned politician added.

Birds of a feather?

It’s no secret that in the past Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had amicable relations, or at least have been closer than most recent US Presidents.

Good, old-fashioned kompromat

Some say that Putin, a former intelligence officer, had some compromising material involving Trump. However, these allegations have never been proven.

No collusion

What is true is that US intelligence has proven that Russian hackers helped Trump to get elected president in 2016. However, there has been no proof that the former Commander-in-Chief colluded with them.

Images that didn't age well

Newsweek pointed out that Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives for allegedly pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into claims involving Hunter Biden in exchange for military aid.

From one stable genius to another

At the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Trump declared that Putin had been “a genius” while talking on 'The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show.'

What a wonderful war

“Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine… Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,” the real estate mogul turned politician said, adding perhaps he should have done the same in Mexico.

Unbiased?

Even if one ignores the pending legal problems that Donald Trump is facing at the moment, it seems he would be a less than ideal candidate to mediate between Russia and the West.
