Remember when an anti-Trump group published a devastating ad against the former president?
The 2024 Election has been a particularly tough race in terms of attack ads, but one of the worst came in May 2024 when an anti-Trump group tried to show exactly why the former president was unfit for another term in the White House by looking at his liabilities as a candidate.
Republicans Against Donald Trump is a group that defines itself as former Trump voters who once supported the former president but now refuse to support him and created a video to show just how worrying Trump should be for Americans based on a rather interesting concept.
The video shows a person trying to get a job at a local mall using Trump's résumé. It highlighted many of the major liabilities Trump would bring to the Office of the President in 2024, ultimately showing that no employer in the mall would give Trump a job based on his checkered past...
“If Trump is too big of a liability to get a job at your local mall, he is too big of a liability to be president of the United States,” a voiceover in the video explained. However, a bit of context is needed to understand the statement.

Republicans Against Donald Trump wanted to show that Trump wouldn’t be able to get a job at a local mall based on his current civil and criminal charges and used a hidden to show the reactions of potential employees when they listed off Trump’s ‘résumé’.
The individual in the video was trying to find employment using the former president’s résumé, something that did not go over well with potential employees once the person on the video revealed their troubled past according to Huff Post.

“I’m currently facing 88 felonies,” the person in the video explained to several potential employers before going into detail about some of the felony charges, revealing a few of Trump’s most problematic alleged crimes.

“We run a full background,” one manager explained to the individual in the video, adding quite bluntly according to HuffPost: “It won’t go through.” Another in charge of a jewelry store also noted the charges would be a problem.

The video then cuts to a voice-over explaining Trump was currently facing 88 charges and had been found liable for assault, adding the line that if he was too big of a liability to get a job at a local mall he was too big a liability to be president.
Republicans Against Donald Trump ran their video as an ad during the former president Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ trial according to The Hill, which noted the anti-Trump group spent six figures on the ad.
“The MAGA base might rally to Trump’s defense in his criminal cases, but swing voters don’t want a potential felon in the White House,” Gunner Ramer, the Political Director of Republican Voters Against Trump explained in a statement.
“We’re sending the message that Donald Trump is unfit for office. If your local retailer won’t hire someone with Trump’s criminal record, why should the American people elect him to the nation’s highest office?” Gunner added.
